    Kramer yellow & black EVH

any opinions, besides its prob a piece of shit? Im thinking if I gut the pups and replace it with SD or a single EMG at the bridge? I was also thinking about the tone I could get from a blackout pup? anyone? Looks like a knock off floyd trem, but its also locked at the neck and a fake floating trem is betta than no trem? especially for the price! $0 shipping. $325.78

Shit man, that looks NICE. Even if it is a knock-off Floyd, still better than a standard synced Trem, hehe.

    Go for it.
Reading Crazy From the Heat in four hours flat, in a cramped RV, on the return trip of a 3,000+ mile family outing to New Jersey is an enlightening experience you'll never forget.

Check out the YouTube comparisons - they do sound more organic than EMGs I kinda think...

As for the guitar - Is this an Ebay item? Too bad you couldn't grind the guy down to $275....

Checked out dhgate.com. Interesting stuff, good prices.
Some of their stuff is blatant knock offs. But hey, buyer beware...

    b-b-b-b-BULLETHEAD!

If you like this type clean-string tone but crank your stuff with dirty pedals, go with as clean a pickup as possible such as the old steadys: Duncan JB bridge, '59, and my personal choices the Pearly Gates, the Alnico-2 '59 and the Antiquity bridge - which I like alot and order them unpotted.

half-potted or unpotted, if they don't squeal I do not pot my pickups.

The Jazz bridge is supposedly an excellent, highly underrated low-gain pickup for rock...

I think I posted before how I peeled down a sh-2 to 6.1K and the thing just woke up and shook off all the dead midrange like a wet dog's coat.

There's another thread idea I should try this winter.. the Peel Your Pickup Thread about how ditching the inductance shifts the high frequency peaks.

I dig Pearly Gates...never tried a JB. I hear they're very finicky about what guitar they're in.
On the Duncan Forum people either love them or hate them...seems to be no middle ground whatsoever...

Jerry Cantrell swears by them, that's a pretty good endorsement, I think...

its mainly novelty, but if i can make it sound like my other one,

    Attachment 1537

    bonus

Plus of all the striped guitars, I've liked the (black with yellow) bumble bee the bestest mostest.

Then the double necked yellow with black stripes was second. largo 82 SOLO?

    check out that sight dhgate.com

well mine should be here in a few days, so I'll let you know how it sounds.

its maplewood and rosewood. he confirmed it was a floyd rose trem w/pics. i think alot of this is after market stuff and also an ebay type deal. works like escrow. its a holder. so no money unless i confirm shipment. which is that thingy you sign at the door.

But Im going to make the dude come in and take a seat while I plug this sumbitch in and see what it sounds like. if its SHIT, it goes back in the box and I tell the nice lil man it's the wrong colour.

Worst case scenario...it will look really cool displayed next to your other one. Black/yellow is my 2nd fav...after the black/white. Makes me sad the original is decaying in a box 6 feet under. Is grave robbing still a viable criminal profession? Every time I think about it all I can do is imagine the un-finished pool scene in Poltergeist. /shudder

$300 is not much. People spend that much on a framed picture, lamp, rug, silk plant to decorate their home. Why not a cool guitar?

i spent more on pot last Tuesday. ya know?

i always believed that if you are not doing what you want to do, then you are limited. I hated the idea of being "not good at something".

So i take up hobbies and the guitar has been the best thing I ever could have invested my money on. i love it. girlfriend, dog, guitar, myself, my kids and my bank account. Not necessarily in that order.

i always believed that if you are not doing what you want to do, then you are limited. I hated the idea of being "not good at something".

So i take up hobbies and the guitar has been the best thing I ever could have invested my money on. i love it. girlfriend, dog, guitar, myself, my kids and my bank account. Not necessarily in that order.

it came in. shitty strings, no name pick up. still played ok. I wired an SD JB and changed my strings to a higher gauge. (wished I didnt- fuckin' "tingy) anyways, turns out the locking nuts at the neck are not completely sunken into the groove of the neck. So.....Instead of paying $200 to have some local guy carve it up and make it fit, I bought a used Fender neck and now I have my own franky, yellow & black monster that sounds fuckin hot! Great stuff. Without changing the neck or fixing it, the low E and A strings were giving off some horrible warpy feedback thing.

Glad I changed it. BTW, the Fender neck/headstock was $60, well used and straight as a fuckin' arrow.

    thanks for the JB suggestion!

    Careful!

Ed didn't like what he got when he cut parts off that guitar.
It's a shame that families should be torn apart by something as simple as....wild dogs
