Eddie and Alex Van Halen came from the same womb, played in the same legendary rock band ... and now they're driving identical $120,000 silver Audi R8s.

We're told the rock star brothers purchased their new rides last Friday at Keys Audi in Los Angeles -- but for some reason, Eddie was sent alone to ink the deal.

While Eddie may be the generous type -- sources say the brothers each paid for their own.

Nothing like dropping a quarter mil on some family bonding.

It would be righteous if he did and I wouldn't mind if the last $150 I gave him in '07 went towards that paint job.

The car appears fit enough for a king to cruise in. Looks pretty schweet to me.
Think I'll cruise over to the Audi dealership for shits and grins and take a peek at what Ed & Al picked up.

3. Rich rock stars buying $120,000 cars is hardly news. It's not like it's going to break their banks. I went and saw the reunion tour, and paid over 150.00 (not from a scalper) to see them, and so did 20,000ish others..... What I am saying is they made bank on that tour alone, and been doing it since the 70s...

TMZ tour stories are getting stupid, most of the recent stuff is a waste if time.. and not only do you talk about stupid stuff, you shove it down our throats in multiple posts.

In May 2009, Audi decided to halt plans to produce the R8 TDI, citing "the cost of re-engineering the petrol R8 to accommodate the massive twin-turbocharged diesel engine is simply too great – and that it would be unable to recoup its investment through sales alone".

diesels are still a tough sell here, i think a performance diesel car would be a tougher sell.

Other wise forget it.
