Ed didn't acquire an Explorer-shaped guitar until 1977, and it was an Ibanez Destroyer-lawsuit guitar. On the tracks for the first and third albums, any song that did not include a whammy bar dive was done on the Destroyer, which he cutely called "the Shark." In Running With The Devil, the opening guitar gliss was done behind the Tune-O-Matic bridge at the stopbar. To this day, I cannot recreate this sound whatsoever with my guitars behind the nut.
