Eddie van halen zippo lighter-value ???

Would anyone know what the value would be on a new in the box(never used)zippo Eddie Van halen striped(red-white-black)lighter,i have two that i bought in 2004,thats when they came out,it was a very limited run which are no longer made,i would sell one of them for the right price.

Sounds cool. Can't remember seeing one myself. If you want to check value, I suggest searching eBay. If nothing shows up in current listings, make sure to check all closed listings as well. Goes quite a ways back.

They are rare and hard to find,i just recieved a email from a van halen items collector and he said he sold one,shipped, for $125,he explained to me that they are highly collectable and to hang on to both of them. Well since i have two i wouldnt mind letting one of them go.

I knew a dude once who was just some guy I met at a bar( so I really cannot say he was some dude but all apearences pointed to the assumption that he was some dude ) but he was friends with this guy who knew of a dude who said that there are people who collect Zippos and they trade them like other dudes trade classic cars and then we talked about other things like the ass on Sarah, she was the bartender till 5 o'clock that night.

Zippo is a very collectible item. Some serious fans out there with huge collections. Where did these lighters officially come from? Were they an item sold on the 2004 tour?

I was at a KISS show in 1977, at a time when the roadies simply used to attach a row of picks to a long piece of masking tape stuck to the microphone stand. At the end of the show, Gene Simmons took the tape and heaved it into the audience, where it promptly landed on some unsuspecting soul's back. He was soon pummeled by about 20 people who wanted a souvenir of the show. Poor bastard never knew what hit him.

Zippos in general can be quite valuable to collectors. Look at the bottom of any Zippo you may have around the house and check the date stamp. Old ones can bring the cashhhh.

People may or may not be aware that there are alot of Eddie Van Halen striped Zippo lighters out there that could be counterfeit. Back in 2004 during the reunion tour with Sammy Hagar, Zippo produced striped lighters and they were sold via the web through feamerch.com for $25.00 each and were in short supply, sellling out rather quickly. However, if you check eBay, there's a dude in Canada selling them for between $75.00-$150.00 and his supply never dwindles. This guy is well known in the rock memorabilia world for printing stuff up like T shirts, posters, guitar picks, etc. and advertising it as collectible, but it's all a ruse to get you to part with big bucks for fake stuff. You don't even have to hassle with an auction and can buy the lighters on his website at a premium. I surmise he's somehow counterfeiting the Zippos so be careful, I doubt anyone could have a never ending stash. One of his ploys on eBay is to sell them using various IDs to throw people off, but if it comes from Canada and the auction is private, chances are it's bogus.

Plus, it's kind of a vicious circle, people buy Van Halen Zippos from him thinking they're real and then auction or sell them off not knowing, so there's no telling what's real and what isn't. The quality of the fakes is undeniable, he's got counterfeiting down to a science and is basically printing money.

Be sure there's a 2004 copyright on the ligher.
