so when i posted this time, i just went straight to posting it here, and figured i would save a mod the trouble.

my 1st album was recorded using 24 channel console into a cpu and the program used was cakewalk.
i have since destroyed the masters of the 1st cd, as it turned out sounding fucking horrible.
the mix was horrid.
extremely tinny.
it was done in san bernardino at the home studio of a drummer i knew from a band called "the order of the fly".
he was called "the hessian".
it was his girlfriends mom's garage.
i was using an olp ernie ball music man copy through a 15 watt crate practice amp.
when i did my 6 song ep in 2002, it was done on 24 track analog tape at
lo-fi studios.
the lady who runs it, maria, has since destroyed the tapes.
i used the 15 watt crate practice amp, and an ibanez cherry red double cutaway.
the ep was called "hard, loud, and proud"
the 1st cd was called, and my manager named it, so don't blame me,
"555-the neighbor of the beast".
when i did the 2nd cd, i re-recorded the best songs from "555", along with whatever else i had written and ready to go.
the 2nd cd was recorded at "the armory studios"
in redlands, ca.
it is no longer there.
the 2nd cd is called:
"prime meridian mind fuck"
it was done with a borrowed 300 watt full marshall stack, a pedal i borrowed,
it was an extreme metal distortion pedal, as the head did not have a footswitch or whatever.
the set-up was fully digital and done with pro-tools.
the 3rd cd, "disasterpeace theatre" was done with my 75 watt line 6 spider 3
amp miked up using pro-tools again.
it was done in a home studio of one of my manager's band mates in yucaipa, ca, where they also record.
his name is andy.
my manager's band is called "the maxies", and their schtick is the whole
"we're from greenland" thing where everyone in the band dreeses in the same red pants, white shirts, red hoods, and white masks.
it's a genius schtick.
anyway, matt, my manager, and andy, the engineer can be heard in a few places on the 3rd cd.
the intro to "i am satan", helping me with back ground vocals and the gang chants, the atmospheric bit at the end of "alcohol(the world drinking tour),
the choruses to "rumpleforeskin", and the end of "feel my evil".
"disasterpeace theatre", "i am a caveman", and "the final journey into the black" was all my singing. the intro to "feel my evil" is me singing and the barking dog you hear is also me.
i wrote all the music and lyrics, and i played every single note of guitar, and sang every note of every song. i wrote and performed all of it.
and i produced all of my albums myself, so the mixing, and editing, effects,
mastering, etc has been a learning by doing process.
so i take full responsibility for everything.
i have also paid for every penny of the costs myself.
i am for the most part very proud of my work.
the ep and 1st cd, excluded, of course.

i had full creative and content control.
this means i have the full say on the music, lyrics, and the art work and packaging, etc.
i had a recording costs deductible of $500.00
as for royalties on album and merch sales, ticket sales, etc, i got half, they got half.
not a bad deal actually.
when the contract expired, i got the masters back, and destroyed the first album masters.
i am also free and clear to do with my music as i please.

i destroyed it and the 2002 ep.
the masters were burned in 2008.
only a few copies were ever made,
and i have personally made sure most of them were destroyed.
there are a couple out there floating around i have been unable to track down and destroy.

i was unable to afford more studio time to do overdubs and fix it up.
fucking thing was so sloppy and sounded so bad, i refused to allow my record company to release it.
i didn't want people who were eagerly waiting to hear my 1st record at the time pay the price and get a horrible sounding sloppy ass piece of trash.
it's a quality control thing.
also, i really didn't have much of a clue what i was doing with that first album.
i destroyed it because i couldn't erase it.

there are no copies of the cover art.
either way, the record label folded before the ink on the album art was even dry.
they never did anything for me.
local punks record was an independant label out of jeff aragon's house in hemet, california.
i found out he now lives in hawaii.
either way, like i said, i cannot show you what i do not have.
what i do still have is the liner notes, lyrics, track listing.
i've kept them on a 3.5 floppy.
i need to hook up my A:/ drive on my computer.

Careful. I can see this leading into that entire "If a tree falls in the woods, and there is no one around, does it make a sound?" argument. Of course, in this case it would be a sap in the woods making noise on a battery-powered amplifier, but you get the general idea.

It's impossible to imagine how unfathomably bad that first album must have been.
The mix was horrid right Ace? It's vocals and guitar.
You can almost hear the imaginary engineer saying, uh Ace, you gotta swallow the doritos before doing a vocal . Try shaking your head Ace we're going to try for a maracas sound on this one.
Oops Ace, we had a problem with the record company.
It looks good though, we're in talks with the rapidshare label for an April release.
