Heroes hell, I'm getting old...
I don't care if he looks like Thomas Jefferson now, the day if/when a reconstructed Zep sets foot in the eastern U.S., I'm there....

I think he looks cool with his flowing grey hair !! I'm guessing Plant won't be around. He is to busy doing hillbilly music !! He doesn't want to ruin the Zeppelin name but he can belt out Black Dog country style !! Whatever Rob !! I hope Jimmy brings Jason on tour.
I think they have to use Jason....he's the heir apparent and after playing with Zep, I can't see the fans accepting anyone else.
The sticking point isn't just Plant at this point, it's Jones as well. Them Crooked Vultures appears to be taking off quite nicely, and could tie him up for another year or so. If that is the case, I don't see why Page wouldn't go out like he did on the Outrider tour back in 1988. He could play whatever he wished, without the albatross of Zeppelin (along with people's expectations) hanging around his neck.

dream on is one of his best.
happy birthday jimmy page.
Still rate the studio lead solo to stairway as one of the best ever....
I dont think I ever heard him pull it off note for note live, but
the studio version is a magic solo......
the closest pagey ever got to it was december 10, 2007.
he went out of his way to play it as closely as possible to the record.

Sorry ACE
This performance was ok, but page was nowhere near the studio version
when he did the solo, but he was tryin !!! I still to this day have never
heard that solo live as per the record.....
I dunno about that recent gig... It was cool, but I thought they would be
putting everything into that....... LZ swansong maybe,

They really took the song a step down, didn't they...
Of course, I'd rather hear it played like this than have Plant attempt to hit the high notes unsuccessfully.....
You are absolutely right, literally.
Musically that whole show was played a whole step down. Unfortunately he still gagged on some of the high notes.
Stairway is in the key of Am, but it's Gm here.
Even in the old days Plant didn't hit the high notes in Over the Hills and Far Away. But on their West was Won collection there's a live version where he does and boy is it amazing.
66 years old, and heavy rock/metal is still going strong. Can't think of many other genres of popular music that gives the older generation as many props....
The Power Of The Riff Compels Me
I'm looking forward to seeing the DVD he did with White and the Edge.
The dvd was ok. The Edge seemed cool even though I can't stand his music, Jack White seemed like an ass !! He has talent but...... Not impressed. Page was cool on it, all of his part's were the most interesting. White think's he is the Johnny Depp of guitar or something !!
