Based on the way that the Vikings thoroughly dominated my Cowboys, who were one of the hottest teams in the league coming into the game, I believe that the Vikings D will wreak havoc on Drew Brees and the Saints offense next Sunday, and Favre will carve up the Saints D like Thanksgiving Day turkey en route to a 34-21 win and a final trip to the Super Bowl for Brett Favre.
A friend and I were talking this afternoon about the Saints performance against the Cards. It occurred to me that Arizona's defense played crummy from the second half of last week's game against the Packers, and continued to do so against New Orleans. As a result, I don't believe that the Saints were really as spectacular as they seemed. Think about it: Reggie Bush looked like a monster, and Shockey (although injured) had a terrific game as well. Neither player has been that good all season long.
The only thing that bugs me about Minnesota next week is they are horrible on the road.

I said in the what the Favre thread on 11/24/09 that I thought these two teams would be playing in the NFC Championship game. Not like that was a remarkable prediction, but the two best teams all year are meeting for the right to represent the NFC. I will stick with what I said then. I'll take Brett Favre and heis experience along with a running game and Defense that gets after the QB.

I have to admit, you were dead on with your prediction about how the Jets pass rush and safeties would result in a long day for Phillip Rivers, but I still have some doubts about the Vikings/Saints game. As I'd said earlier, I wonder about Minnesota playing on the road, in a loud dome other than their own. This is counterbalanced by the performance the Saints put in against the Cards. I do not believe they were superior to the Cardinals, only that Arizona was too banged up and tired by the time the two teams played.
Let's just hope that neither game is a blowout.
