    Remember the ADA 2 x 12?

I remember Paul Gilbert and a few others advertising these back in the day. Getting one for really good price this weekend. Hoping it's a decent cab. Anyone here every play through one?

Never used these. They make a lot of sense though. A friend of mine is a Digitech clinititian and was using this type of cab cuntfiguration for his clinics.
They're a lot easier to drag around to gigs..

Yes I had one, it's quite an OK built cab. Got mine for $15 unloaded in 2002 and they're built well.

The only problem I recall was that a couple teenuts got cross-threaded while loading a speaker.. I think they're 8-32 three-prong teenuts, very common at HDepot or OSH hardware section.

If I had to do it over again, I'd lay all the screws out on a rag and shoot the thread with a quick shot of WD40 before driving 'em back in on the speaker frames using the cordless drill.

The plywood is 5-ply 5/8 construction-grade pine ply, which is fine for the size because there's not enough cu ft to allow the speakers to reach their floor of bass resonance anyways.. half-cabs are all about transport ease anyways and I'd MUCH rather have an ADA half-slant than a Marshall 2x12 any day of the week for practice.

So where do you stack the tube amp head using this, without it being prone to bumping over? See that's what you're gonna have to figure out on your own.

For the life of me I can't remember what happened to mine, if it got stolen 7 years ago with everything else, or did someone borrow it!

I just can't remember.. I stuck a pair of 75's in it just to "have" and .. duh! No recall.

I feel like a fag but I've been using in ear monitors and going direct to the PA. Zero speakers to carry. It's not as exciting as having a big pile of speakers and amps behind you but when you are the roadie, carrying a bag instead of a van of stuff in nice.

Picking it up tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully get to play a few different heads through it after the Colts game Sunday.

That's the road we are heading down. Trying to save for in ears. Lugging gear always sucks, but is sucks more the older I get.

Turns out this is a pretty decent cab. Well built. I'm not sold on the speakers that are in it though. Celestion G12S-50's. They sound ok and it may just be a matter of tweaking my amp head a bit. I'm still considering replacing them. Maybe some Webers or good old standby V30's. Decent little cab though. And not as much of a hassle to haul as the 1960-A.

Those are awful sounding, because the resonance is high and the sensitivity is poor.

    Get two G12M-20's or 25s
