There is a guitar shop in Dallas called Zoo Music. I wandered in there one day in the early 80s, and they had 4 or 5 of those Ibanez Vs....all for around $500 apiece. It was an interesting store....wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling guitars, with piles of old dusty junk guitars in the corners.

OK, so next I want the Voodooman Dual switch for my Mark III...

Then the MXR Carbon Copy and an Expression pedal for the MM-4 as planned...but also thinking about adding a volume pedal in the loop to act as a foot-controlled Master Volume...

Will be like 1 1/2 times the current size, but even more versatile...I can live with that...and still check it on an airline...lol Current version only weighs 26 lbs, I can't see adding a couple of pedals and inches to the case size bumping it up by more than 10-15 lbs?

          Worth a shot...

Had the ol' melted velcro problem with the board last weekend; thinking this may be the solution.

You still have to wonder about the heat of the pedals unseating the glue from the plastic strip, even if it is a super-glue like adhesive. There is another option, but it takes some work. This works best on a homemade, metal frame.

Essentially, you remove the backing plate from each individual pedal, then drill a hole the diameter of a 2 inch bolt and insert the bolt through the hole. (You can use some super-glue or JB Weld to hold it in place.) Reattach the plate to the pedal. On your metal board, position where you want the pedal to be, then drill a hole the same diameter. Place a few rubber washers on the bolt to keep things tight, then slide it through the hole. To fasten in place, use a wing-nut with a washer.

There you have it, no glue yet absolutely zero slippage. And you can still access the pedals for battery or other maintenance by simply turning the wing-nut.

Does sound like some work...lol In my case won't need battery access once applied; I'm running a Voodoolab Pedal Power II for everything - interestingly the Pedaltrain board (also metal frame construction) has an underside bracket that will hold it among other power supplies w/o modification. Kinda cool. The pedalboard planner design is based off the 32x16 model which I was considering anyway...may give it (and the PowerGrip tape) a shot rather than having something custom made...or bolting things down...

                Thinkin' this one...

Final revision will look something like this...

The more I'm reading up on the new MXR compressors, think I like the Custom Comp better...

Think it will hold two pedal power units...which would mean I could throw in a BBE Sonic Stomp and a Hush Pedal in the loop too, not like it really needs it, but hey...

I upgraded for free: ditched my SKB15 and found an SKB25 so I can mount the tascam recorder on it, added a tuner, and my wireless receiver.

Basically the same thing I had but a little larger.. zippered plastic board.

The reason I didn't like the Pedaltrain was it's weight, and that you can't throw it in the overhead.

My guitar goes in the overhead; the pedalboard goes as a checked bag. Plus I'd like something a little more sturdy than a zippered plastic board.

You could check the SKB if you had to, but I would prefer to reinforce the top portion with a foam-n-aluminum sheet or plate to protect the knobs.

Pedaltrain is perfect for checked baggage, but it doesn't have corner wheels and an extendo-grip like other luggage. That's all it really needs, so you could dolly the sumbitch thru lobbies.

Especially Houston, that lobby is a bitch.

Nah, even if you slipped carboard on top, I think it would be fine.

I've throw these around abit now. Two layers of webbed padded nylon, and a pouch between and haven't sheared or kinked a pot shaft yet.

Plus they're very light. At guitar center pasadena last weekend, I saw they got an even lighter zippered one like the SKB for fifty bucks.

Actually, I toured with someone that used an SKB, and it got ripped to shreds. Literally, as well as every time the stage crew saw it getting set up regardless of what city we were in. They're pretty much toys.

Check out the offerings from the regulars, Shure, Nady, etc. But I know Line 6 makes them now, as does Samson and a few other manufacturers...I haven't used one myself since the 90s... but someone I teched for swore by their Shure, and it worked all over the f*ing country.
