Hagar`s alliance with Fat Mullet, caused all the shit on the 2004, tour! Ed/Al will not allow Mullet back now, because he taunted the Van Halen family, by not turning up to their late mother`s funeral!
Fat Anthony is more hated by the Van Halen`s, than Hagar, and Dave put together!
Hagar will return to the line up, as a hired hand, like Dave was on the 2007/2008 tour!

To be honest, I think the 2007/2008, was not just about $$$$, it was about closure, on the Dave reunion saga. Ed/Al, must have been sick to death, of people keep posing the question!
I guess ED thinks, he can now tour, to sell out shows, with Hagar, and be just as successful. I
Hagar is 64 now, so i can`t imagine him, doing a full tour/album, 10 years from now!

I`m sorry, but you guys are in denial, if you think there is no problem in the Van Halen camp.

The only time things were a case of fairly smooth sailing, in terms of the band getting along, was during the years 1986 to 1991.

Considering the music made during those years, it'd be a relief to hear the "band" (such as it is) WEREN'T getting along right now. Might bring some friction, which could result in a few sparks, to the table.

I mean, is it gonna be a huge shock should Roth depart again...if push comes to shove? I believe it'll be inevitable (hee hee) sooner or later.

Far as the Van Halens doing the last tour with Dave to possibly put the question of "When are you guys gonna reunite with Roth?" question to rest, I'll buy that. The Roth Reunion was gonna be a line of inquiry posed to the Van Halens for as long as they lived. For better or worse, they did it. It happened.

Let's say Roth is still in the fold, but "Van Halen" going forward was gonna amount to nothing more than Greatest Hits tours, well, fuck, they've already done that. If only more of the same was to be forthcoming, I really couldn't give a shit if they chucked Roth out and brought Hagar back. I'd rather see Roth put another slamming live unit together (with a guitarist who was able to make it to gigs sober and ready to play), hit the road solo-style and perform in smaller venues than spend his days waiting on the Van Halens to leave their home studio for another cash grab.

Most likely they'll announce a tour and may surprise us with a few new songs on tour but an album before touring looks very unlikely, if no single is released before April forget bout an album, whether they'll do an album after touring 2010 is any anybody's guess

Nothing to base it on, but personally, I assume there's some sort of problem. The tour's been over for a LONG time now, the "publicity" behind this band is a fucking joke, NO updates, NO interviews that amount to anything, nada. Zip, zilch, nothing. AND we all know from history what's going on in Van Halen when you're not hearing anything.

If I were to make a relatively educated guess, I'd say they probably tried some studio stuff and haven't done anything with it...

1) They can't make it click (a very real possibility, as greatest hits tours after a multiple year hiatus from one another don't exactly fuel the creative fires much);

2) Wolfgang's a studio liability (very likely, considering his age/inexperience on his instrument and Ed doesn't want to pull more underhanded "I'm playing bass now!" bullshit like he did for years with Mike);

3) Dave's being Dave and that's creating problems (less likely, as he seemed VERY restrained on the last tour and inexplicably quiet);

4) Ed and Al can't be bothered to quit playing XBOX 360 games long enough to remember how to record an album properly, Wolf's eating sandwiches in the kitchen and Dave's sitting home wondering if maybe Mike actually made sense when he was talking about getting fucking bored out of his skull sitting around for years waiting on a phone call.

My guess is that they've gotten as far as naming the record "Encore" and maybe fiddling around in the studio with ideas, but have yet to actually DO anything outside of pre-production and sound tests.

I mean, years of quiet out of the band would have been one thing back in the 80s (of course, VAN HALEN in the 80's never would have dreamed of that), but in this day and age where rock updates are coming in every sixty seconds for anybody with an internet connection, it's just fucking unheard of.

Obviously there's a problem, it's just WHAT is the question.

We can rest assured that Dave wants to put out a kick ass album of new killer tracks, but Ed hasn't even TRIED to write a good song in, what, 26 years?? I think they should just cover the "DLR Band" album(which only sold 2 copies) and release it under the VH banner -I'd be happy with that, as long as it doesn't resemble(even remotely) "Up for breakfast"....

I've said for a while now that it still could see the light of day, with a couple of new songs added in order to have some product to support when the band hits the road again later in the year. From a practicality standpoint, it would eliminate both the time and pressure of expectation off the ever so fragile shoulders of Edward Van Halen. And of course, everyone needs yet another version of "Jump". It's beginning to become the band's "Rock and Roll All Night", since it's been repackaged so many times.
