Van Halen MK 4 have to audition for my attention and work for my loyalty as a fan. That results from many (too many) years of the Van Halens doing exactly what they felt like and giving the middle finger to the fans regarding what THEY wanted to see and hear. Couple that with drunken Mr. Fingers and his deteriorating abilities and you get a situation that doesn't inspire me to think it's gonna necessarily be great until I hear it and judge for myself.
