Browns trade QB Quinn to Broncos

I know there's some Browns fans here. How do you feel about this?

Cleveland Browns trade Brady Quinn to Denver Broncos for Peyton Hillis, picks - ESPN

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Browns have traded quarterback Brady Quinn to the Denver Broncos for fullback Peyton Hillis, a 2011 draft pick and a conditional pick in 2012.

The teams announced the trade Sunday and said the deal is pending physicals.

Quinn's departure comes one day after the Browns agreed to terms with free agent Jake Delhomme on a two-year contract.

Quinn went 3-9 in 12 starts for Cleveland, which drafted him in the first round of the 2007 draft.

"I appreciate everything Brady did for us last year and in his three seasons with the Cleveland Browns," coach Eric Mangini said in a statement. "He is professional in the way he goes about doing his job and worked extremely hard at every aspect of his game. I wish him the best of success in Denver."

The Browns also traded Kamerion Wimbley to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday for undisclosed draft compensation, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Quinn won Cleveland's starting job last season, but was benched after 2½ games for Derek Anderson. Quinn eventually got his job back when Anderson struggled but the former Notre Dame star was hindered by inaccuracy and never developed into the player the Browns had hoped.

His days in Cleveland appeared numbered when new president Mike Holmgren failed to endorse Quinn as the Browns' future starter. Last week, the Browns acquired backup Seneca Wallace in a trade with Seattle, released Anderson and hosted Delhomme, recently cut by Carolina.

The Broncos reportedly pursued Quinn last season when they were trying to replace Jay Cutler.

Jeeze, I didn't even think of that. Talk about the clash of the not-so-titans, Kyle Orton VS Brady Quinn. Yikes!

So I guess the browns are going to suck for at least another two years, Delhomme, isn't the best by any means and the browns are the graveyard for his career

That's what I thought, the Broncos got pwned in this trade. It makes no sense to me at all.

Instead of one mediocre quarterback, they now have two.

And if Marshall leaves, they might just sign T.O.

let's see what they do in the draft. for all we know they're planning on drafting (another) QB of the future that will get traded by the new regime when the Holmgren regime fails.

I dunno WARF...I really get the impression that when Tebow makes it into the NFL, it will be as a tight end, not as a QB.

Bronco fans, how is this Peyton Hillis guy?

Also, if we're going to go QB, we had better draft anyone not named Jimmy Clausen please.

He's earned some accolades as rookie of the week and shit like that, but he's been hobbled once or twice with hamstring injuries. A few years ago he was lost for the remainder of the season for a hammy injury. But a real solid player aside from that.

He was highly regarded amongst the staff and players in Denver, so it's kind of a shock that he was traded for a throwaway QB.

Correct me if I'm wrong about Quinn, but the word on the street is that he was a real bust and I don't know anyone whose feeling positive about this trade.

Back in the Shananhan days he was mainly used for power back in short down situations which he did just fine. Problem was he was prone to injury and now in the McDaniel era our current head coach is too ignorant or to full of pride to use him at all opting for his own pick of Moreno who is just another mediocre back in the league as far as I care.

Don't know much about Quinn other then he was less than impressive in Cleveland and failed to live up to expectations demanded of him so he'll fit in well with the Broncos.

So, they basically traded one interception machine for another? Although, I will say that Delhomme is a much better QB than Quinn, but that isn't saying much. Browns fans should be used to their QB's throwing INT's by now.
