I popped the "Betty Page" disc into the car today for the first time in about 3 years. And I was disappointed.
That album really used to be a good listen - but today on a different CD player, I could hear different things. Like that almost EVERY vocal track was doubled. And when I listened to Dave's voice carefully, it was pretty much shot. I started to see where people were getting that from. All in all, as much as I used to like it, it sounded a little cheesy to me.
There are still some great cuts on it in spite of it all. Tight, Right Tool for the Job and wknd w/ the babysitter. And I can't get "King of the Hill" out of my head right now - "500 horses and a Chrysler Deville......."
While I'm at it, I think Pauley Perrette should play Betty Page in a biographical movie.
