I think he could. But he was such an asshole to a few cool posters in Gear Street that no one there gave him credit for his knowledge. He did have a lot of knowledge and I don’t think you get all that knowledge from googling questions on the fly. I’m not sticking up for him here, but I’m sure he knew how to play guitar.

Having watched one of my friends go through this on a fantasy football site, (she was the only woman on it that really talked, and so was driven out of town) I am sorry to see the herd mentality.

Whether or not Gar was the "most hated" or something, he should not be banned just because of that. If a site becomes too homogenized and only those that think alike are allowed to post, sites become stagnant.

I don't think that M.A.S.H. improved just because "Ferret Face" Frank Burns left. Gar was a lightening-rod and kept things interesting around here, regardless of his opinions.

I would prefer to see someone legitimately banned only for forum rule busts, and that could happen I suppose to anybody.
