"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. - Some come from ahead and some come from behind. - But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. - Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!" ~ Dr. Seuss[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

son have you come in the coldnight alone for that Mississippi power yeah yeah yez?
OMG Blaze you spelled Mississippi wrong! (Not being the spelling police, just so not like her!)
Oh dear.
i love the way he sings "everybody" before the solo. he's so inclusive Dave!
Wow!!
That song has one of the best guitar solos of any solo Roth, period!
Awesome...
Makes the song WAY better...
I'm sure that's Terry Kilgore...
Thanks Blaze for the great audio...
What, you never heard this song before? Maybe you were too busy thinking about how to perform fellatio on the elderly gentlemen whose bedpans you take care of.
This song is by far better than most the songs on Your Filthy Little Mouth (pun intended). And that is my favourite Dave album, by far.
It's actually one of the best songs Dave ever did.
It just fucking rocks.
Can we
Make a deaaaalll
Cheers! :bottle:
Do you really think i've never heard this song ??
This version has excellent audio, and for the first time, I sat and paid close attention...
Always liked that song. It was well worth the money to buy the single that it was on.
Mississippi Power sounds in the verses like Sting to me...
Solid vocals by Dave with the exception of about 3-5 seconds around 4:00, where (IMO) he strains too much. I wish he wouldn't DO that! The rest of the song is stellar.
“Why do people say "grow some balls"? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding” ― Betty White
I prefered the first time.
Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell
Jimmy Rogers on the Victrola up high
Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder
The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky
The boy could sing, knew how to move, everything
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for
Chorus:
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
Up in Memphis the music's like a heatwave
White lightening, bound to drive you wild
Mama's baby's in the heart of every school girl
"Love me tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle
The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for
chorus
Every word of every song that he sang was for you
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon, what could
you do?
(Solo)
chorus repeats 2x
If you please, if you please, if you please
lesfunk, people already said that about...
DLR is getting mileage off that groove.
"Nothing gets a yak over a suspension bridge faster than 'Back in the Saddle Again' by Aerosmith" ~ DLR
My big computer is down for collection and therefore, I had forgotten about this song. This song is long enough to be able to get into a groove when working the sticks. o0 Though, I am not supposed to be "exercising" my arms yet... Perhaps I will just reflectively visualize my wellness ... Or maybe not use the sticks. Anyway, I love this song.
That song sucks, wake me up when dave starts rockin. thats a bathroom song. when he sings it, everyone goes to take a piss.
This is good.
An artist should permeate (pardon the pun) every aspect of life, if you have planned to relieve yourself when certain songs of David’s plays, you are part of the sculpture. Your every move is proscribed. :P
You may not realize it but songs are created to make people behave in certain patterns. Being the observer that I am, I would create songs specifically designed t effect behavior patterns. Moreover, certain songs are placed in a set to lessen the burden on the performers. It is known that playing a river sound after a long hard set will compel a significant part of the audience to visit the stalls.
The river sound is played, the audience moves about, afterwards the band and staff can return to attending a hard driving audience with a focused intent.
I would explain more, however, I do not have the discourse handy.
Please raise your hand and ask for a hall pass, if you need to visit the restroom.
Does Suicide Solution move you in any way ??
Don't have anything in particular to say. Am just trying to temporarily sweep the boards
Scramby eggs and bacon.
Fantastic...

Just discovered this track. In fact, it is what led me to this board. I wish they would have tacked it on to the remaster of Your Filthy Little Mouth.
