The police must have a way of dealing with this otherwise you would think that they wouldn't have survived the first time they did it at a marines funeral.
They take their children as a screen too.

So is that woman protesting against the GOD HATES FAGS, DIO IN HELL people?
Great "anti-WBC" signs.
In other news, this from Facebook today, posted by Wendy:
I am happy about this, and will surely donate in memory of Ronnie. For the fans that could not make it to Ronnie's Memorial, we will have the official T-Shirt, program and button available for a donation to the "Stand Up And Shout" Cancer Fund. More information this week! Please don't buy them off of eBay as none of the $$ will be going to the fund. These are sellers looking to make a profit off of Ronnie which is very sad

According to Ronnie Dio's lyrics and stage schtick, I would think hell is exactly where Dio wanted to be so he's got the last laugh on Westboro Baptists Church.
I love this guy - he's totally owned them. Don't know who he is but he's got an honorary dumpmeister medal nomination waiting from me if he reg's here..
I think all the peeps that got their own signs up there (especially the chick with the sign that said "God Is Imaginary") had the perfect idea. As much as those assholes deserve to beat into the ground, the best possibly thing to do would be to do exactly as they do...protest with signs. No violence, no drama. The day is for Ronnie, after all.
I look forward to seeing more photos of this event.
Video from Dio's memorial.
Look who shows up at the 20 second mark!

Of course you KNEW if anyone was there with a camera, bet dollars to doughnuts (mostly doughnuts) that DisgrACE would find them, and would have dressed (more like a jackass than usual) for the occasion. Seems he was accosting anyone with a camera...

Fans Say Farewell to Dio
Compiled by DAVE ITZKOFF
Published: June 1, 2010
As befits a man who sang about tigers, demons, wizards, evil and hell, the heavy-metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio, below, was treated to a raucous memorial service on Sunday, The Associated Press reported. Mr. Dio, who sang in the band that bore his name, as well as in groups like Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell, was 67 when he died of stomach cancer on May 16. More than 1,200 fans gathered at a service inside the Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park in the Hollywood Hills section of Los Angeles, while hundreds more watched on monitors outside. Among the musicians who performed at the service were the keyboardist Scott Warren, who played a piano arrangement of Dio’s “This Is Your Life”; John Payne of Asia, who sang Black Sabbath’s “Heaven and Hell”; and Joey Belladonna of Anthrax, who sang Rainbow’s “Man on the Silver Mountain.” Willie Fyfe, Mr. Dio’s personal assistant, said: “Once he had a crowd in his hands, that’s where they stayed until it was time to go, then he’d give them back, and walk off and do his thing. Bless him. He’s still doing that now, and the guy is in a coffin.”
I have a friend who was there. He did not get inside, as he arrived at 10 AM and all the wristbands to get inside had been given out.
I will have to ask him if he saw spAce.
i was filmed and interviewed by several camera crews.
i did wear my studded leather vest and my black spandex pants, but also my devil mask, with the face cut out of it, so that my face shows throught it.
i got to sit inside in the a/c.
i love rjd, but that service was 4 hours long. no bullshit.
after the first 2 hours, a number of folks got up and bailed. i was trying really hard not to fall asleep.
eddie trunk was the "master of ceremonies".
glenn hughes looked like shit with that bad hairpiece, and his voice was struggling to sing "catch the rainbow"
which was actually played twice ONCE BY GLENN WITH CRAIG GOLDY ON GUITAR. glenn hughes has not aged well.
unfortunately, i did not have $25 for a shirt, but i did keep my program and blue wristband.
also, i was singing as loudly and proudly as i could and most of the songs that were played. i sang from my seat.
at one point eddie trunk commented about the possibility of dimebag and ronnie having a jam, and i blurted out, "they're already doing it".
eddie, at the end of the 4th hours goes "we could go on and on about ronnie james dio for aniother 4 hours" and i blurted out rather loudly "NO!"
anyway, before the service, i went up front to talk to vinny appice, who actually remembered meeting me last year.
i knew ronnie was a new york giants football fan, as am i.
i took my own new york giants hat and i said to vinny after speaking briefly,
"vinny, i brought ronnie a gift, i know what a fan he was, as am i. would you please give this to ronnie for me?"
vinny goes "well, not right now"
to which i said "no not now, but please before you leave"
he said yes.
when i went up to the casket to say my final thanks and goodbye, sure enough, vinny put the hat atop the casket for me.
vinny appice, a class act. him and ronnie both.
rock in peace ronnie james dio
i will add that blondie was at the service as well, but she sat outside.
she and i, along with my "big burly biker friend" and his wife, all went to phillipe's for dinner afterwards.
as for me, there is plenty of video of my and plenty of pictures of me were taken.
i understand there are some videos already posted on youtube, i have not seen them,
but to the religion idiots, on several of the interviews, i looked directly into the camera, and said to them directly, i'm paraphrasing myself:
"since some people from mensa decided to have an einstein convention, and send these religious idiots down here to represent heaven
and it's morality, i felt that it was only fair that hell should be represented as well.
to those fools outside side i say this, 'fuck 'em!
...and the next time that you are down on their knees praising jesus, make sure that you SUCK HIS FUCKING DICK!!!"
or something closely to that effect.
Wow, that dude at the end was quite dickish....
I think it's time to finally unsticky this....
Rest in Peace, Ronnie.....

The Los Angeles City Council officially declared May 30 "Ronnie James Dio Day." The announcement was made at Sunday's public memorial service for the legendary heavy metal singer who died of stomach cancer at the age of 67 two weeks earlier.
Eddie Trunk, host of VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show", read councilmember Paul Koretz's official declaration to those 1,200 mourners gathered inside of Forest Lawn's Hall of Liberty, as well as the hundreds more who crowded the courtyards of the Griffith Park cemetery.
Watch video footage of Trunk's announcement below (courtesy of Christy Borgman).
Koretz's declaration in full:
"I would like to adjourn in memory of Ronnie James Dio. Born Ronald James Padavona, in Portsmouth New Hampshire in 1942. He had an amazing career in music, marked by tremendous successes with heavy metal bands ELF, RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, and DIO. He began his career playing with rockabilly bands in the late 1950s, and gained wide exposure in 1972 while his band, ELF, as the opening act for DEEP PURPLE. In 1979, he replaced Ozzy Osbourne as the front man of BLACK SABBATH. He toured with BLACK SABBATH until 1982, by then he had formed his own group, DIO.
"Ronnie's charisma on stage was complemented by his compassion offstage. As an organizer for the non-profit organization Children of the Night, he was dedicated to the cause of assisting children who were forcefully subjected to prostitute themselves on the streets. Since 1979, this organization has provided victims of forced prostitution with intervention and counseling, as well as a roof over their heads and a place to sleep.
"He is survived by his wife, Wendy, who is chair of Children of the Night, and his son, Daniel, his father, Pat Padavona, and two grandchildren.
"For his countless fans and admirers, there will be a public memorial service this Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills."

Another dupe post.

I finally took the time to sit down and watch the 2 dozen or so youtube vids of Ronnie's memorial service that I downloaded the other day.
Fantastic service. Of course there was an asshat - "THIS IS NOT A ROCK CONCERT!"
Fucking asshole.
Then the nutjobs. Fortunately there only appeared to be 2 or 3 of the Westboro assholes. God curse them.
And I do feel spAce made a complete ass out of himself. Some people just cannot be serious, even on serious occasions. But then, that is Ace.
Now, let's see if I get another dupe post out of this forum software.
Edit: Amazing.....a single post for once.
BECAUSE I DON'T TAKE 98% OF THINGS IN LIFE ALL THAT SERIOUSLY.
I believe in celebrating life and remembering folks who have passed as they were at their finest when they were living.
so funerals for me are a celebration, not mourning and misery.
At the dio funeral, I was celebrating ronnie's life and music, not mourning it. a person never truly dies until no one remembers a single thing about them or anything that they did in their lifetime.
as evidence that ronhnie will live on, his various charities, his musical legacy, his family, friends, bandmates,
business partners, and most of all his fans will remember him for a very long time.
ronnie is in our hearts.
and as such, he is alive and well.
vinny appice asked me about why i wore the devil mask. i told him i did it just to spite and piss off the religious idiots outside protesting.
those westboro baffoons even got totally owned by some kid.
now that was really funny.
besides, don't you think ronnie would have taken the piss and had a right hearty laugh about it all?
i think he was laughing his ass off.
hell, i could practically hear him.
in the end, the award for "biggest douchebag and generally making a total horses ass of themselves" award
for that day goes to the westboro protestors.
More like he was looking down saying "Check out THAT jackass!" If he indeed laughed, chances are it wasn't WITH you.
No, those are the voices in your head. Go back on your meds.hell, i could practically hear him.
Funny, your sorry ass tainted more tribute videos than THEY did...guess again.in the end, the award for "biggest douchebag and generally making a total horses ass of themselves" award
for that day goes to the westboro protestors.
Please don't indluge Ace, it will just lead to an argument which will soil this thread.
