I do hold more than a passing interest in the subject having
been treated for another type of cancer. Im doing really well
in fact after all the mega embarrasing crap you go through,
I cant tell that there was ever anything wrong ??
Everything works the same ?? Pleased with my treatement choice.
Hopefully the new technologies that they used on me
can help him out.. You know what sucks the most with
cancer ? You have to wait 10 years (sometimes five) to
know if the treatment actually worked...

If I was diagnosed, that's it for me. I won't do the chemo, I've seen what it does and I'm not into cutting body parts off.
I know you can cut the stomach down to next to nothing, and it will grow and stretch back so probably if it's not malignant and spread to other systemic parts hes got a good chance.

lasted 6 months tops...
You have to have symptons before they can find it, and by the time
you would be showing symptons of stomach cancer.... I dunno...
Hope with every fibre of goodness within my soul there is such a thing
as early diagnosis with this type of cancer.
The trick with that I think is, people ignore the symptoms thinking indigestion, or boozing effects.
If I had to choose, I'd go with dick cancer and let the thing rot right off. It's not like I ever use the thing..

Well, ever since JizzyStool dumped GAyR for a woman, he never got over it. Poor GAyR.
Yep. My mother lasted about seven or eight months with it. The doctors said she was absolutely clean after they began treatment (and say whatever, but we were using alternate forms of medicine as well), but they said it was in our best interests to continue chemotherapy "just to be safe". Unfortunately, they continued it too long and it destroyed her ability to make red blood cells. The cancer in her stomach came racing right on back and it was over within a month.
Stomach cancer is a very ugly prognosis.

My grandpa died of it when I was 9. And that was back before they had the current treatment options, such as they are.

Ronnie James Dio’s wife/manager, Wendy, has issued the following update on the singer’s progress as he battles against stomach cancer:
“Well, it has been a very exhausting month. After all the never-ending tests in Los Angeles, we flew to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and as soon as we arrived, we got a call from the MD Anderson Hospital that they had an appointment for us with the doctor we originally wanted, so we then flew to Houston to the clinic, and, of course, MORE tests, but Ronnie finished receiving his first chemo treatment on Wednesday, and all is going very well.
“I would like to thank Tony Martell from the T.J. Martell Foundation, Dr. Stuart Aaronson from Mount Sinai, Lindsay Brown and Mike Carden from Eagle Records, and our very own Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, for all your help in getting us into MD Anderson, and also our friends Geezer and Gloria Butler, who flew to Houston to be with Ronnie while he had his chemo.
“Ronnie and I are totally overwhelmed by the amount of well-wishes that we have received from friends and fans – we are reading them all.
“Some make us laugh, some make us cry, but all of them are so filled with love that it gives us so much support and makes Ronnie even more determined to fight this battle and win.
“Thank you all for the positive energy and prayers.”

That's a nice thought but chances are he's not going to make it.
He has a 1 in 20 chance of surviving the next 5 years so I wouldn't be expecting him to be touring...
IF he can tour, then (christ I hate to say this), we can reasonably assume it will be his last. I have always dreaded the day when we would begin to bury our heroes due to old age and not drink, drugs or transportation.

Ronnie has the proverbial photographic memory. I have had friends meet him, and then 6 years later run into him again, and he could recall every last detail of everything they talked about at their previous meeting.
Is that good or bad ??
