Doesn't it figure that the first thing we hear about new VH music is from someone OUTSIDE the VH camp....

What the fuck did he marry his PUBLICIST for ??

Janie's too busy raising her profile as Mrs. Van Halen and forwarding her own career as stuntwoman, publicist, actress, etc....

If she hasn't done anything fruitful for the VH camp by this point, she never will and will be content to let the chips fall where they may.

Here's the Dweezil quote from the VHND that catches one's attention...

"It’s kind of funny, because I’ve recently been spending some time with Eddie Van Halen after being out of touch for a while. He was playing me some new stuff from his record, and I was playing him some stuff that I had been working on for this project, you know, playing Frank’s music. He actually came to the Jeff Beck show the other day too. [Dweezil is talking about the recent LA show on 4/17/10 when he opened for Jeff Beck - VHND] ...."

It would have been nice if Dweez elaborated a bit on what he heard and/or what he thought of it....

Probably because she was the only woman within 50 miles that could tolerate him during his "homeless guy/porn soundtrack creator" phase.

To tell ya the truth, I found that story to be fairly neat.

Well....in the interest of honesty myself, I didn't even listen to all of it.

I tend to cut straight to the music...

Am I the only one concerned about the "his record" stuff? Sounds like a solo album rather than new VH. Not that I expect either to ever be released...

You could read more into the statement than that. Think about it, Zappa states that Ed was "playing me new stuff from his record" (or words to that effect). He doe NOT say that he was listening to actual recordings. For all we know, they were merely passing a guitar back and forth between them.

Eddy has been saying for years that he has been "writing new stuff". I don't know that this is anything to get excited about just yet.

Which record? Let's see....there was 6 wif Uncle Dave, several with the Fat Klown, one with Gay Sharone.

Dweezil could have been meant that they were sitting around with some hash and some Smoking Loon listening to an old 8-track of Van Halen II or some shit.

Well, he DID say 'new' stuff, but who the fuck knows?

Well, he was right about the stuff they were doing with DLR in 2000, but I won't hold my breath for this one until I have the record in my hand.
