Zakk Wylde ceased being an interesting guitarist to me after No More Tears. As far as Joe Holmes was concerned, well, all I ever really heard out of him was that one song on the Beavis & Butthead soundtrack (I guess?) called "Walk On Water", and to say that song was amateurish dreck would be putting it mildly.
I still think Jake E. Lee and Randy Rhoads were Ozzy's best solo guitarists. Brad Gillis doesn't have enough heavy on "Speak of the Devil" for me to consider it doing Tony Iommi any justice, but he was a solid player and there's a few instances over that album where I get excited.
Twistin' by the pool.
If Ozzy is going to start adding Ultimate Sin tracks to his setlist, he should add Lightning Strikes while he's at it. I don't know why Ozzy hates that album so much, as I think it's one of his best...very underrated. It's the Rodney Dangerfield of Ozzy albums.
Shot In The Dark is the weakest track on the whole album, IMO.

I have to be honest with myself. I just don't care about Ozzy anymore at all
Check 'Scream' out, it's well worth a try.
Light years ahead of 'Black Rain'...........
Still no video or audio of Killer of Giants from Italy. You would think in a crowd that big someone would have got some footage.
Next show is on Friday in FINLAND. Wonder what the set will be? Seems they have also sound checked No More Tears so that could come back. They also played Mama I'm coming home at one of the other UK shows.
++++
One a side note I have probably ran through Ultimate Sin 2 or 3 times in the last couple of days. Still no interest to go back through the new one "Scream".

Some footage appeared late this afternoon. Remember, it takes a few hours for Youtube to process new information. In fact by now there are several clips available from the Italy show. Click HERE.

“The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”― Stephen Hawking
That drummer is a joke. He sure as fuck ain't no Tommy Aldridge.
Shit, Ozzy should've hired this guy if he was looking for a "sideshow" on the drums... (See 2:50)

Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!
My god, this Gus G guy is a jerk, sounds like he stole his whole sound from Zakk!! I can't believe that. I've got to say, with all the talent he has had playing for him in the past, I think he blew it with this cookie cutter faggot
The Hankster Cometh
Yeah I just found the Killer of Giants footage as well on GUS G's official myspace page
Seems Gus is a big fan of the song. Gus - "we did KILLER OF GIANTS for the 1st time that night! one of my all time favorites!"
Well maybe he can get Jake back......

Where is this gig, an airport lounge?
Ozzy proving that the lyrics to 'You can't kill rock n roll' were not entirely accurate...

Now he is claiming he did not know the bass & drum tracks on the first two albums were replaced until it had already been done. Yeah, right.

OZZY OSBOURNE Says He Was Against Idea Of Replacing Original Tracks On 'Blizzard', 'Diary' LPs - July 7, 2010
Bob Daisley, who played bass on the first two solo albums by Ozzy Osbourne, says in a new interview with his web site that he has not been contacted about the 30th anniversary editions of those records being released later this year. The tracks played by Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake on both albums — 1980's "Blizzard Of Ozz" and 1981's "Diary Of A Madman" — were replaced on a previous reissue after Daisley and Kerslake sued Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne over royalties.
Daisley told the web site, "Neither Lee nor I have been contacted, considered or consulted in the decision to re-release the original recordings. I haven't a clue as to what the 'bonus material' might be. As for royalties, we have not been approached for a reconciliation and have been offered and promised nothing."
Ozzy told The Pulse of Radio he was against the idea of replacing the original tracks when he found out about it. "Believe me, it wasn't my doing," he said. "I mean, I didn't know that was being done, 'cause Sharon was fighting all the legal things that were going down at the time. I said, 'What did you do that for?' And she said, 'The only way I could stop everything was if it went to that level.' And I said, 'You know what, whatever the circumstances were, I want the original thing back.' I mean, I wouldn't have done that."
The replacement tracks were played by current METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo and FAITH NO MORE drummer Mike Bordin.
Daisley says that he and Kerslake were fired because of disagreements with Sharon over a number of things, including refusing to do two shows in one day out of worry that Ozzy would blow out his voice.
I really don't think Ozzy makes decisions anymore. In fact, he probably hasn't made them for a long time.
That being said he must have known about this even if he couldn't stop Sharon from doing it.....
For all intents and purposes, I believe Osbourne gave up making decisions sometime in 1979. He's always astounded when confronted by what has gone on around him, like a drunk waking from a stupor and being told how he'd embarrassed himself at a party the evening before.
"I did WHAAAT with the neighbor's donkey?"
Man i hate that freakin show. News flash to Sharon: America doesn't have talent.
RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE
LET `EM ROLL ONE MORE TIME
Zakk's problem was that he stuck around too long, and with BLS it was a case of quantity over quality. I don't think anyone would say that the playing on 'No Rest....' and the 'Pride and Glory' records aren't impressive though, would they?
From what I remember, despite the fact that he didn't play on it, Joe Holmes wrote a sizeable chunk of 'Down To Earth' - it might be my memory playing up, mind. I actually saw him with Ozzy in the late '90s and was blown away - no frolics, just blasting out the classics. He's no RR or Jake, but he's hardly a slouch and I would have been very intrigued to hear what he sounded like with Ozzy on record....
Listen girls, Joe Holmes sucks...
And I think Sesh was kidding about CC being better than Jake...
As for Holmes work on DTE, he only had 3 songwriting credits. Even those are joint credits with other songwriters who were working on DTE. Pop guys like MArti Frederiksen and Producer Tim Palmer wrote most of the material.
1. "Gets Me Through" Ozzy Osbourne, Tim Palmer 5:04
2. "Facing Hell" Osbourne, Palmer, Scott Humphrey, Geoff Nicholls 4:26
3. "Dreamer" Osbourne, Marti Frederiksen, Mick Jones 4:45
4. "No Easy Way Out" Osbourne, Palmer 5:06
5. "That I Never Had" Osbourne, Frederiksen, Joe Holmes, Robert Trujillo 4:24
6. "You Know...(Part 1)" Osbourne, Palmer 1:06
7. "Junkie" Osbourne, Frederiksen, Holmes, Trujillo 4:28
8. "Running Out of Time" Osbourne, Frederiksen, Jones 5:06
9. "Black Illusion" Osbourne, Palmer, Nicholls, Andy Sturmer 4:12
10. "Alive" Osbourne, Danny Saber 4:54
11. "Can You Hear Them?" Osbourne, Frederiksen, Holmes, Trujillo 4:59
Proof of Holmes totally sucking...
Ozzy as well...
