Saw the commercial for this yesterday afternoon. Yes, these are guitars made of paper with no strings, but seem to work pretty much like those plastic Barbie guitars from a couple of years ago. Oh, an amp and drum kit are available as well. Of course, a "sounds-like" VH version of "YRGM" is used in one of the ads.

I found out about circuitbent stuff while looking for another old Alesis HR-16. People tweak 'em, find goofy synth-like noise settings by poking around the board between contact points, then install a hard switched connection.
I think for under 30 bucks, these things will provide many weekends of harmless fun especially if there's some cool sounding bendpoints waiting to be tapped.. and if so, it's only a sequencer away from wild new sounds.
Remember "One Sunday Afternoon In The Park" and the story behind the sounds to that? If you want revolutionary new sounds, you gotta sacrifice to find them to be unique in your own music.
