Told ya it was going to be a tough week. I was 4-8.

It pretty much tells you all you need to know about what sort of week it was when it comes down to SATAN and me picking the Monday night game for the week's winner.

The NFC East is fucking KILLING me this year.... I've lost track how many times Washington and Dallas have screwed me....

I've taken Dallas all year on my picks because I can't bare to pick against the local team, but after that pathetic display yesterday where the team just basically quit and lost to a team they should have beaten at home, I'm picking against Dallas this week. I don't understand how the same team with the same players goes from 11-5 and winning a playoff game last year to being one of the worst teams in the league this year. Detroit and Oakland are better than the Cowgirls...scary!
The curse of Kitna, dude..............
Like I was saying...any week that the winning amount of games picked is 8, and in addition takes some tie-breakers to determine the winner, blows chunks all over the dashboard. And now I'm only 8 games out of first, instead of 9.
I ended with a win last night. A dismal 5-8 week.
OK, done with my picks.
Now, that the season is moving along some picks get scarier.
Some questions that need to be answered
- Are the Cowboys going to win another game this season?
- Is Miami ever going to win a home game or lose a road game?
Who is the bastard in first place now! :tongue0011:
REMINDER !!! Thursday night game this week !!!
I hope you appreciate that I gave you my Monday night pick....
I thought Pittsburgh would win, but because I believe in reverse psychology, I put Cincy down....
Tonight should be a good one.
Yeah...I went back and forth with it...should be a tough game...
I took the Falcons only because they were at home. If it was in Baltimore, I would have gone with the Ravens. Yeah, definitely a good one for a Thursday night.
I honestly can't remember who I picked...I'm pretty spiteful...so I think Atlanta...
Jason Snelling is a whore...and so are the Falcons...and so is Derrick Mason...
fuck a three peat...they are a fucking three-cunt...
I took Atlanta so I'm 1-0 heading into Sundays' games.
Which means? Absolutely nothing. That's what it means.
How'd the bastard that's in first place do? :tongue0011:
Brethren and Sistren,
I too received a gift from the officials as I picked the Falcons. However this year has been an unmitigated disaster for my Pick 'Em and my Chargers and my Irish... But I'm playing through to the end!
That is all.

I tell ya, the easiest pick of the week for me was NE over the Steelers....
Why? 'Cause I've seen both Belichick and the Steelers have the same exact game plan for about 10 years now....
Brady dinks and dunks the Steelers and their horribly overrated pass defense all night long, and the Steelers refuse to make adjustments.....
Yeah, and it's the only late game I managed to get correct.
Why are these NFL games so unpredictable and impossibly hard to pick this year? Dallas gets blown out the week before, and you figure they're dead in the water...no way they could beat a hot Giants team that's won five games in a row and blew out the team they played the week before, at their place! Then Dallas comes out on fire and plays the best they've played all season and wins! This is just one example of many.
It's uncanny, isn't it? Normally at this point in the season, teams are pretty much set in their ways, trends develop and you can pretty much tell the contenders from the pretenders. Not so, this season. I guess this is the personification of Pete Rozelle's dream: parity in the NFL. Given a look at the stats, you can drastically change what team you think is the undisputed best in either league, but only from week to week. And even then, the process shits back in your face when a team like Dallas or Denver walks all over their opponents. It's gotten to the point that this week, I'm going with hunches instead of logic based on win/loss standings. It's either that or resort to coin flips, which when you think about it, is far less work and might even be a more sophisticated way of choosing teams.
And considering my current place in the league standings, anything would help at this point.
Who would have thought that a quarterback's interception would lead to his team being victorious. Mark Sanchez from midfield throws a pass which Cleveland intercepts at their own 3 yard line. Three and out and Cleveland is forced to punt. To make matters better for the Jets the punt is returned about 15 yards and the Jets have the ball on the Browns' 35 or thereabouts. Moments later the game is over.
Maybe it would have been better for Cleveland if they had just knocked the ball down. Also, their first play from scrimmage after the interception was a pass (incomplete) allowing the clock to stop and saving the Jets from having to use a timeout.
OK. I was 9-5 for Week 10. No more bye weeks. Every team plays every week for the rest of the regular season.
Yeah, that Cleveland game fucked me bigtime....
Dallas/Giants, KC/Denver fucked me. I could've been 11-3.
Time for week 11 and another Thursday night game. Should be another decent game Bears/Dolphins.
Yikes, has anyone besides conmee, sonrise and me taken a look at this week's match-ups?
Is it to late for me to paticipate in this?
Not at all. Mathematically of course, you'd have zero chance of winning, but if you'd like to get in on the discussions here on Sundays and throughout the week, then by all means feel free to join. Use the info in the first post in this thread for the sign-up directions, and welcome aboard.
So do you have to enter points?
Only on the two tie breakers at the bottom of the page, which are used to define the weekly winner. Remember, a good part of the time, we are all pretty much picking the same teams, so this is the only way to settle things most weeks when looking for the out and out winner. There are no confidence points either, as I wanted to keep the game as basic as possible with the least amount of headaches. Essentially, you go down the list, picking a winner between two teams, just like one of those sheets you find in pubs for a couple of bucks each week.
