The coolest old commercial airline experience I had was when I was a young kid flying on a Lockheed Constalation in South America. They were still using them down there and you could see the flames shooting out of the exhaust on the big radial engines. It was a night flight and I just stared at the blue flames shooting out and thought it was so cool.
