Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!
Ed sure seems to be out of material here... he's been recycling long before the green movement. Cool clip though... shortly before he totally lost his shit.
Ed's pick attack has allways seamed odd to me. He doesn't rest his hand.
Man, I laughed my ass off when the dude said "I'm scared to death"..... That's cool as shit for that guy, though....
I tell ya though, I'm ready to hear some new licks, whether that's in his actual solo or during the songs.....
Eat Us And Smile - The Originals
"I have a very belligerent enthusiasm or an enthusiastic belligerence. I’m an intellectual slut." - David Lee Roth
"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth
If I was in attendance I'd be up there in a heartbeat.
As for new licks I'd recommend he hire someone like Paul Gilbert to run him through a 6 week guitar boot camp to get his chops in shape!
Ed, left to his own devices, has proven he's a lazy s.o.b. & is comfortable resting on his laurels and past accomplishments.
If he doesn't come out blazing on this next album, it will be a major disappointment...
Ain't holding my breath on this one!
There were actually a couple of decent riffs in there.
Frankly, if Ed never did the 'horse squeal' pinched harmonic followed by a whammy bar dive again, I wouldn't miss it.
Thing of it is, that clip was 14 years ago. Last time I saw him live two & 1/2 years ago, the close-ups of his hands on the big screen behind the band...to be fair, he looked half in the bag, but in addition it looked like his hands were having physical difficulties just playing the instrument.
His style kinda went on autopilot toward the end of the 1980s, solo-wise. Which isn't to say he still couldn't come up with decent song ideas after that, but there it is.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
Couldn't watch the whole thing earlier, but when I did thought - that guy looks familiar...then his voice confirmed it.
That's Damir Simic that gets up and plays...great guy. He may have been scared, but he's no by no means a slouch himself.
I don't blame him, I'd have soiled my pants....
Cool, this clip's been floating around the net for a few days now. Thought it was pretty interesting.
Reading Crazy From the Heat in four hours flat, in a cramped RV, on the return trip of a 3,000+ mile family outing to New Jersey is an enlightening experience you'll never forget.
Ed: "What do you want me to play?"
crowd: "Mean Street!"..."Spanish Fly"
Ed: "Ok some random noodling it is!!!"
Wolf looks really healthy
