Since when does the NCAA love the Pac10 anyway? Just look at what happens to any Pac 10 team when they become too good. (i.e. the Dawgs under Don James or USC under Pete Carroll)

I think it stems partially as well from him being wrong on the 06 title game, like every other analyst was on the network due to TOSU just coming out so lethargic, they had to latch onto something do to the egg that was laid, and sucking the SEC cock was the easiest thing to do.
