Great Game. Da Bears took that game away from the Packers. gotta give credit to the bears. the bears won it with that forced fumble, the bears special teams outplayed the packers special teams, Peppers blocked the packer FG attempt. the bears played 60 minutes and the packers lost their poise.

Dez Bryant paid $54,896 for the Cowboys team dinner last night. He's a rookie. These motherfuckers are thinking of holding out for more? What a joke.

Oh, Jay Cutler sucks ass. He will never win anything. He is best at throwing interceptions at the most inopportune times. He is Favre, only with the inability to win when necessary.

The best part of this story is that initially Bryant was supposed to buy dinner for the offense only. Roy Williams heard about it and invited the defense as well. Maybe Bryant should have carried William's pads after all.

That applies to Tony Romo as well.

10 out of 32, that is what, roughly, 65 percentile, is that a passing grade? (no pun intended)

    Uhhh...what?

Jaguars WR Osgood OK after attack

Jaguars WR Kassim Osgood had to jump for his life on Monday night when he leapt out of a second-floor window to escape a armed intruder who attacked him and a 19-year-old Jaguars cheerleader, according to police.

Osgood was watching television late Monday night with Mackenzie Rae Putnal when the armed intruder, Putnal's ex-boyfriend, entered wielding a gun. The intruder pistol-whipped Osgood in the head after pulling Putnal by her hair and hitting her with the gun and his fists.

Putnal escaped to her parents' home downstairs and grabbed a gun. Putnal exchanged fire with the intruder but shots from both guns missed.

Osgood jammed a chair under the door and jumped out a window to the lawn below. He ran to a neighbor's house to call police. Osgood sustained minor bruises during the attack and while fleeing.

The Florida Times-Union first reported the incident.

"He's fine," Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said. "I'm aware of it. I really can't comment on that whole deal. He's doing OK."

Osgood is in his first year with the Jaguars after signing as a free agent this past offseason. He has made three Pro Bowls as a special-teams player — all with the Chargers — and has a 24-yard TD catch this season.

I think he is closer to 5 than 10 but that is debatable. As a Cowboys fan, I am a little bias, but he is certainly better than any QB Dallas has had since Aikman. I know that is not saying a lot but there is truly only a handful of QB,s that a would considered trading him for.

I thought Romo had something a couple years ago. He still has a LOT of weapons, but he isn't getting it done. Makes me think he is like Jeff Garcia. He lit it up when he had T.O. Romo lit it up when he had T.O. Maybe something to that.

Dallas needs Jerry Jones out of the locker room and a good take charge coach. Until then, they will be like the Al Davis run Raiders.

Ochocinco's cereal box lists sex line instead of charity

CHICAGO (Reuters) – The telephone number pasted on boxes of cereal named for Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco was supposed to be for a charity -- but mistakenly directed callers to a sex line, the player's agent said on Thursday.

"The wrong number was given by the Feed the Children charity," Ochocinco's agent Robert Bailey said. "It's a shame because it's a good cause."

The outspoken Ochocinco said he was confident the mistake -- an 800 area code was substituted for 888 -- would be corrected by PBL Sports, the marketing company behind "Ochocincos" cereal.

A portion of the $5 price of each box goes to the Feed The Children organization, according to PBL's website.

In a tweet, the football player had directed fans to his own website and urged them to order his cereal, adding, "Start your day with a lil suga!!!"

well, the pack got a "w". that was the biggest positive i saw. tight game with a division opponent, but the offense didn't look great for most of the game. they kept matthews in check mostly, but we need to tighten up the special teams quickly.

To be fair to Lions fans, it isn't like Detroit is getting blown out in these games. They have been damned competitive in every one. Considering they have been on the road for three of the four, it's all that more impressive.

Yeah, maybe they are starting to turn the corner a little.

You know Detroit is the only team left in the NFC that has never played in the Super Bowl. There was a time when I thought it impossible that teams like Arizona and New Orleans would ever play in the Super Bowl, but there have been Bowl-less teams in the Super Bowl back to back years, so there is hope that Detroit may get there some day soon.

at least he knows he fucked up, just won't admit it...

(Talk about going for it on 4th-and-1…)
Fourth-and-1, just probably a transition I referred to earlier in the red zone offense there. Just with the play selection, I thought it was a good call. Frankly, was probably a down late. I wish I would’ve called the naked (bootleg) in hindsight on third down. It was all play calling. The way our defense was playing after taking a timeout, it really resulted in getting the field goal in the next series. To me I really think it’s a wash. But, the way our defense was playing, where the ball was at, I thought it was the right decision.

    i think it's perfect...perfect timing.

n recent weeks we've discussed the NFL's inane definition of a catch, the awful rule about calling a timeout before a field goal and how the league reprimands too many players for having fun. We've written about bad coaching and even worse officiating. We've criticized the potential 18-game schedule and wondered what life would be like if the NFL has a work-stoppage next year.
Even though it's the most lucrative sports league in the world and we love it more than anything, sometimes it seems like the NFL isn't doing much right. A decision today may either advance that thinking or reverse it, depending on your opinion.
[Photos: Stunning photos of Marisa Miller]
The league announced that Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Marisa Miller will become the new spokesperson for the NFL. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Miller's first responsibility will be to help promote the upcoming San Francisco 49ers-Denver Broncos game in London.
Either you appreciate the fact that the NFL is using a model to promote the sport or you're baffled why the league would choose now -- right in the middle of the Brett Favre scandal -- to announce this move.

Dubbed the "SuperFan," Miller is also set to appear in both print and television commercials for the league. The former Victoria's Secret model will be an NFL spokesperson through at least the 2011 Super Bowl.

    i think it's perfect...perfect timing.

n recent weeks we've discussed the NFL's inane definition of a catch, the awful rule about calling a timeout before a field goal and how the league reprimands too many players for having fun.

The league announced that Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Marisa Miller will become the new spokesperson for the NFL. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Miller's first responsibility will be to help promote the upcoming San Francisco 49ers-Denver Broncos game in London.

Great. This should effectively take fan's minds off the idea that there more than likely will not be a NFL season next year.

Posted by Mike Spofford on October 14, 2010 – 12:14 pm

QB Aaron Rodgers was back at practice on Thursday, rotating with QB Matt Flynn during the opening jog-through portion. Both were taking snaps.
TE Donald Lee also was back on the practice field after sitting out on Wednesday.
The following players were sitting out during the portion of practice open to the media: LB Clay Matthews, LB Brandon Chillar, T Mark Tauscher and DE Ryan Pickett. Also, DE Mike Neal left after the jog-through.
Stay tuned to Packers.com for Coach McCarthy’s press conference transcript, plus today’s feature story and notebook. Rodgers is expected to talk to reporters following practice today.

    lord....

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shu...urn=nfl-277054

Because of that, and the uproar that ensured, Sainz wants to stay away from the locker room. On Thursday at a news conference near Hollywood, she explained her decision:
"I'm not going into the locker rooms anymore. It's not a good place right now for me. I don't want to be in there."
I need to wait one month to work again because I don't want to be the focus. I'm not looking for that kind of publicity. It affects my career and development in the States."
[Video: See more of reporter Ines Sainz]
Sainz's first assignment will be to interview Pittsburgh Steelers players next week. (Interesting choice, given that Ben Roethlisberger(notes) is returning from his own personal issues as well.) Following that, she will return to speak with the Jets, an event which will become a media event in itself.

Tony Homo is the biggest choke artist QB in the league! Whenever there is a pressure situation, you can bet your life savings that Homo is gonna fold like a deck of cards and throw an INT every fucking time! I'm tired of these chronic underachievers...FUCK Dallas, I need a new team.

What the fuck is going on with San Diego? They usually start slow, but the Raiders beat them for the first time in 9 years, and yesterday they fell to the St. Louis Lambs!!

If that's not a red alert of a franchise in serious trouble, I don't know what is....

Police: Alcohol, drugs not suspected in crash involving former NFL star linebacker Junior Seau

    By Associated Press/Sun Sentinel

    12:24 AM EDT, October 19, 2010

CARLSBAD, Calif. (AP) — Former NFL star linebacker Junior Seau drove off a seaside cliff and was hospitalized with minor injuries Monday, less than nine hours after he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

The 12-time Pro Bowler's white Cadillac SUV was found on the beach about 100 feet below the roadside, said Carlsbad police Lt. Kelly Cain. Cain said it wasn't a sheer cliff but was a significant, rough slope.

Carlsbad police dispatcher Matthew Pinell said late Monday alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash "at this time."

Seau told investigators he drove off the cliff because he fell asleep.

Cain said the lack of skid marks leading up to where the vehicle plunged off the cliff supported Seau's statement.

"If you have somebody fall asleep, that's the kind of exit you will have," Cain told the North County Times.

Murray "Moose" Lee told the newspaper he saw the crash and was standing just north of the spot with no guardrail where the SUV left the road.

"It went whipping right by me," Lee said. "It didn't even look real."

Seau's 25-year-old live-in girlfriend told authorities that Seau assaulted her during an argument Sunday night at his Oceanside home, according to Oceanside police. She appeared to have minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

Seau, 41, was arrested outside his home about two hours after police arrived. He wasn't home when authorities got there, but they asked him to return when he called his girlfriend.

Seau posted bail and was released from the San Diego County jail in Vista.

"At this point we think he's fine, but we really don't have any comment," said Richard Doan, who answered the cell phone of Bette Hoffman, who works for Seau's foundation. "There are no injuries, but he seems to be a little shaken up."

Hospital spokeswoman Lisa Ohmstede declined to comment on Seau's condition, and it was unclear whether he remained hospitalized Monday night.

Seau was a star linebacker with the University of Southern California before going to the San Diego Chargers with the fifth pick overall in the 1990 draft. He led the Chargers to the Super Bowl following the 1994 season and remained in San Diego until being traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2003.

He left football briefly in August 2006 after 13 seasons with San Diego and three with Miami. He signed with the New England Patriots four days later and started 14 of the 27 games he played for them over two seasons. He retired after the 2007 season, then came out of retirement for the final four games in 2008. Seau played seven regular-season games in 2009, all as a backup, and made 15 tackles.
