Gallery..?? The Vault at The RA / Pictures Archive..?

I have some -Roth Photos- I want to load perhaps some photos that have been pinched of other sites, is this a issue.


I have some chops I have made of Van Halen and some Comedy stuff.

I cannot access the Archives... it bring me back to this version of The RA and I really don't understand what is going on with the Gallery here in this new version. When I click David Lee Roth in The Gallery I get nothing.

What I am asking for is even a simple thread that is Van Halen for us to post pics for sharing.
I also looked for a Thread about RA members Photos.. that is what we need..... that is titled Member Photos Van Halen and Whattever by members. I am not saying your 8X10's from home..... Rock Stuff..etc.

Isn't there alot of these things I mentioned at the Vault of the oler site allready..can it get opened for access..??

RA members Photos Stickied is what I mean like the Pop Gear from the old site..?

Open a Blog, post them in my profile, what is best,, I don't want to have a closed thread just for my own stuff..?

Should I have PM'd Cato with this..?

Click on Gallery beside Forums, then click upload. Everything else should be self-explanatory.

It took all this time and money just to get the site upgraded and the new design implemented....

With Sarge now deployed, the chances for anything getting fixed that needs it is very, very remote....

Most of us have neither the access nor the permissions to make changes to the "core" of the site itself....

The best I can recommend is to continue to document the bugs you find, and eventually they'll get fixed.... When that will be is anyone's guess....

Thank You both for these replies I have clicked on the upload and found out some new stuff .

It does seem to be half there, in it's awesome potential. I understand it will take more time for organization etc..

I see we each under our usernames can have a gallery of images, within the gallery itself not just images randomly placed around the site or in our username profile page.

I appreciate all the Mods work and the Webbies and the hired experts who put all of this together it is capable of expansion and great potential.

I just checked every page of the gallery, and what I see all seemed to be working fine. I didn't try uploading anything...but I was able to get to the upload page. If you need me to try to upload, I can, but I'm sure it works. It is pretty self explanitory. When you talk about the archives, are you talking about the wayback machine archives, or the vault?

I wayback machined a couple of days ago, and noticed that most of our archives there ship us directly to this site. However, you can go way back, and see the first three versions of the site there. As far as the vault..it takes you back to one of those versions..the black version...which IMO...is the best. But...that version certainly isn't supported at this time. The links in the vault come here because we likely don't have access to those versions anymore...

As far as forum member uploads...it's the last category of our current board, where you can upload a pic of you...or whatever the fuck else you want to. It's not formatted the same, but achieves the same purpose as what you are looking for.

Not sure that helps, but it all appears to be in working order....

If you start with the home page of this new version and click Vault under the header.

It takes you to the last version of The RA ( my favorite due to it's completely custom set up, unique)

(Even when we were down completely I was able to access that old page off a Google search hidden link I called it, The Back Door. It was as it is now not everything turned on mainly Forums was turned off, got me thru some hard jonesing times .)

Under menu(old grey version) most of the links work the Forums leads you back here.

Interviews shows up in the old style wich is cool .

Audio interviews brings you back here but to threads created in 2004 wich is cool. Old stuff opening up in this skin. Forum stuff threads etc..

DLR/VH Picture Archives brings you back to this new version front forum page. Nothing.

That is what I was leading into will those old photos wich were pretty extensive be transfered to this new version accessable thru this versions Gallery, or simply open up as a Museum in the old version thru Vault, wich is fine .

The old version and all of its stuff can be held under, as it is, or will it all be transfered to appear as with this new skin . I kind of like the old stuff appearing in the old Grey tones look. I understand all of the threads opening up here.

I am not in any way pressing for webbies to feed my immediate needs just asking around about this and that.

I haven't found a Wayback Machine yet..? I am talking about Vault.

Is everything from the old version content wise going to be opening with this new skin look (transfered here) or will we be able to look at old stuff under the older looks wich I think is cool.

I understand everything isn't turned on yet that is what I was leading into I was wondering if it will all eventually appear here or will it be like we have this site now and everything since the new V Bulletin re-opening.

And we will also have a seperate site of the old stuff held under a "historical type archive" wich I think is cool.

I also realize these decisions do not need to be made now and perhaps are allready on the books to be discussed I am just a freek and seem to have a need to know what is happening probably out of the realm of simple members "need to know basis"..lol

I don't want to try without asking first..?

Vault Audio Interviews links work...lead to this new skin and appear all fine but the clicking on to stream is dissabled. Takes you back to old version.

I am not hassling just saying.

Thome, if you use a hosting site like Imageshack, there is an option for a direct link that is readable by the upload feature in the links section there. Failing that, although it would be an extra step, you could save the image (from a third party) to your computer by saving it or taking a screen shot and reducing it, in order for the uploading function to capture it from your computer.

Yes I use Photobucket they limit naked content but we have a awesome thread here for that, so i have had no real need to 3rd party any questionable images so it suits me fine.

When I click on Upload here in the Gallery page it gives me three boxes that all open up a direct link to my PC.

Are you saying all I need to do is get direct link url from my photobucket image posting options and paste it in that box..?

Many of the images I save to Photobucket are not on my PC anymore that is why I am asking.

Yep, that's the ticket. Try the direct link code if using an image from Photobucket, and you should be good to go.

There are one or two hosting sites for nude content (such as Imagebam), but they only allow images of thumbnail size, forcing the viewer to click on the image and be taken to the site in order to see the full sized image. To me, that is not only annoying, it is also invasive as hell.

Yeah it's all a tracking system for us doity people.

I got pornsites loaded into my fav's for instant access (-They The Them- know I like Oogl'n Cans).... one of the reasons I was behind whoever erased all that content a couple years back.

There are millions of sites that carry boobs and other such awesomeness and I thought The RA should have a few threads like the Muff and The Doctors, wich are stellar, but does every poster have to have his own thread about this or that boobage..I didn't think so and I assumed it used up a lot of space. A few here and there but we didn't need to host 5000 G of pron with it so easy to access everywhere. Plus most people wouldn't know a sexy shot if you showed them how...lol

I realioze alot of other stuff was lost also I lost 3 pages of my Tunes thread and it is not cool anymore so it just sits plus lots of content from Youtube has been blocked since was it sony or some music company came into YT and lowered the boom, pissed me off.

I will leave it up to The Doctor and The Muff thread professionals here they know from chicks.

I'm certain that the goal is to have everything ultimately open up here in some form or other, although I haven't talked to Sarge straight away about it. Va was dead-on. Sarge is getting deployed, in training for it, and the site, quite understandably, is likely on hold. What I do know about Slingblade is that it's never down for as long as we think...I'll shoot him an e-mail...and see what's up...

I can tell you that the old skins are many people's favorites...so I can see Sarge keeping it for certain things.
