Van Halen 1982 Diver Down Tour Shirt

Remember that guy I told you guys about? The one that gave me the Kramer XL. Well he also gave me an Al Di Meola shirt, a vintage Fender shirt, and he let me wear his Van Halen 1982 tour T shirt, purchased in LARGO, MARYLAND. He was at the infamous show, and being a family friend I extended my gratitude by burning him a copy of the DVD. Anyway, here's the picture, I forgot I had it.

Reading Crazy From the Heat in four hours flat, in a cramped RV, on the return trip of a 3,000+ mile family outing to New Jersey is an enlightening experience you'll never forget.

That shirt was a hand-me-down, and how did I treat it? By caking it full of transmission fluid doing a trans install with my van on the street.

That's the best shirt... you need a haircut Soldier.

Yep, me as well. I think it lasted about 3 adventures in the washing machine before all that was left was a bit of the lion image on the front.

Of course yours was a hand-me-down. You've never witnessed CVH live. Did you steal it off one of the young boys you urinated on in the shower?

Hey why not simply pull out handfuls from the top and start a comb-over like GAR?!

Actually I got a haircut right before I started school. It's really short now. I usually get it buzzed with a #2 on the side and trimmed short on the top, and blended in either way

Ahh yes. The story of the time Ed handed 'lil GAR his Destroyer and gave you a guitar lesson at a kegger back in the 70's ...

Never knew bullshit could be piled that high.

That's the story! EXACTLY the experience you'd trade for your 82 memory and that fucking shirt.

It was a magical time, to be sure....

I was lucky enough to spend much of 1984 in southern California, it was my first year in the Navy....

It was wall-to-wall Van Halen, no doubt about it....

Van Halen was the biggest band in the world, and if it were not for Thriller, there wouldn't be any musical act that was close to them....

And that's why it was such a kick in the balls when they broke up soon after that, what could have been.....

This is the kind of shirt I bought that night in San Diego (see my avatar) and still have, and the same one that I squeezed into in Greensboro in '07.... For a better explanation of the reaction that shirt got that night, see the link below the pic....

By and large, it was OK. However, I could have lived without having to drive a Toyota Corolla, for Christ's sake.
