Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!

So using that as a yardstick, just out of curiosity, when did Van Halen "save the business" the first time, if ever?
That was a dirty trick on Zep's part. Releasing 6 different album covers and all of them covered in brown paper so you couldn't really see which one you're getting. Buy 10 copies and trade with your friends! Many sales were a false inflation by record collectors.

That damned packaging was something else. The inner sleeve was treated with that stuff they used in old coloring books, so that you could "paint" it using tap water. The pisser is the sleeve was easily assumed to be plain old black and white, and I only discovered this little treat by accident when I set a soda down on top of it!

Van Halen May Tour in 2011

    From Rolling Stone

Van Halen will return to the road in 2011 — or so said Live Nation Ticketmaster chairman Irving Azoff, in a meeting with analysts meant to show that the outlook for next year’s concert circuit will brighten. Van Halen, with David Lee Roth, last toured together in June 2008. According to USA Today, Azoff, who is also Van Halen’s manager, named Van Halen, Christina Aguilera, Fleetwood Mac and the cast of Glee as some of the artists that are expected to pack stadium and arenas when they embark on tours next year. Van Halen’s 2008 tour grossed $93 million for Live Nation.

This isn’t the first time Azoff has promised of a Van Halen tour: In September 2009, at another Q&A session, he mentioned that Van Halen were planning to tour in 2010, but that never came to fruition. Van Halen has long been rumored to be working on a new studio album, their first with Roth since 1984, but Eddie’s wife Janie Van Halen told Rolling Stone in June that, “What is going around is exactly that, rumors.”

Well, Rolling Stone is getting better in it's coverage of Van Halen. It has only taken the magazine a few days to report a story published at Blabbermouth last Tuesday, the source of which was a brief mention at USA Today on Monday. Way to go, RS!

In any event, ELVIS posted essentially the same story earlier in the week:

VAN HALEN To Save Concert Industry?

I MAY find the cure for cancer...

I MAY figure out how to balance the budget...

    I MAY win the lottery....

I MAY end up at the Red Roof Inn tonite bumping coke off of a skanks ass....

MAY is a funny word, like 'maybe' or 'might'.

Without any definites, this is just another speculation thread.....

It's always nice for a band to be such a revolving fucking door of personnel that a journalist has to make a specific point about who will be singing.

"Van Halen, with David Lee Roth."

They should just change their fucking name to "Van Halen, starring (insert hired gun singer here)"

Perhaps the cast of "Glee" will be the opening act...

Perhaps AzzoH could limit the false propaganda of imaginary high hopes.

Mr. AzzoH should try a forced acquisition of the actual commercialized and established name names of his desired band brands, forgoing the original commodities of the band brands. Then, he and Sony can arrange for a reality show to produce the branded commercialized sound he desires and abstain from the natural development, growth, and educated demands of veteran artists.
"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. - Some come from ahead and some come from behind. - But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. - Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!" ~ Dr. Seuss
