“The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”― Stephen Hawking
oops. sorry to go off topic
gar, i lived in yucaipa for 9 1/2 years.
that is off of I-10 and sr-38. it's in the mountains.
it's nowhere near the high desert.
it's on the way to palm springs, which is 45 minutes away. big bear is about 1 hour away.
as for the 4 lightning strikes, i was fucking kidding, people.
chill the fuck out.
i never got hit by a bolt of lightning in my life.
i have, however, had 4 or 5 very close calls.
as for being barefoot........i hate wearing anything on my feet and i much prefer to be barefoot as often as possible.
obviously there are certain times of the year that is ill advisable, namely summer and winter.
as for on stage, i do not ever perform barefoot.
i did it once, and unbeknownst to me, there were shards of broken glass on the fucking stage i didn't see before i fucking stepped on them and cut my foot up bad enough to require 8 sutures at redlands hospital.
that was on 12/31/2000.
so needless to say, i won't ever make that mistake twice.
oh, and gar, i'm 33, not 30.
i was born in saturday july 2, 1977.

If you are gigging with a high gain tube amp, it's a good idea to carry some spare pre-amp tubes. The small grid parts sometimes rattle loose and the tube with still work but when the tube is pushed hard, it will squeal or sometimes your tone goes to shit. It's usually the tubes because they are the weak link in an amp.
Spare tubes are always good to have on hand at a gig, at least preamp tubes...but I don't think that was DisgrACE's problem if it was a Valvesuck...I mean, state...
the amp in the video is the afore mentioned 75 watt line 6 spider 3 solid state that eventually blew up and fried the les paul along with it.
Gosh I hate to put this thread back on topic but I'm bored.
I don't care if Dime bag loved anything. He was a nobody to me before he died and remains the same today. I just don't see the appeal.
Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!
Not much topic to get back on top of: what could we say Dime accomplished?
1. Mosh pit hero to all the fat, filthy unwashed college dropout potheads?
2. Symbolic icon for fast rhythm guitar playing?
3. He increased the popularity of the bass control to enhance percussive guitar genre: Slipknot, Slayer, and other noise I don't find appealing..
4. He was a proponent for the pain-dipped Goatbeard. Every Goatbeardy dude honors Dimebag, when you pass a young dude collecting botlles and cans with 3 or more dogs lashed to his shopping cart, kindly give him the "yeah DIMEBAG!" thumbs up you'll get a cheery smile back!
It takes years of hard work and a lot of passion to learn to play the drums on 6 strings, but Dime did it. Oh yes he did!
I've fried every solid state Marshall amp I have ever owned. I've toasted two Valve states and a Lead 12. A friend of mine had his Valvestate amp go on him during the Jimi Hendrix playing contest in Seattle. Voodoo Child did it in.
