Isn't the character Sheen 'portrays' on his sitcom basically an extension of himself?

So if it's on tv, it's okay, but if he does it in real life people who don't even know the guy jump on his shit?

Found Sheen's comments about AA interesting, particularly about how silly it is for someone who hasn't had a drink in years to still define themselves as an alcoholic. Shortsighted or not, I am coming to believe that one major purpose of professional psychologists/rehab counselors/therapy groups is to convince people they're fucked up when they quite probably aren't, convince them that they can't conquer their addictions themselves once and for all, and lifelong treatment is the only solution.

Too many cocksuckers out there ready to tell others what they're doing is "bad" and make them feel guilty about it long enough to swipe a few bucks out of their pockets. This Dr. Drew character is a prime example.

I agree with you AA is not suitable for many, if not most, and rehab in America is a JOKE.

I am not able to pull quickly, but Google Germany's approach. It is 200% better than the faith-based USA doles out.

So far I don't think Charlie has done much of anything wrong. He called out AA on their 5% success rate...which is true. And they are a religious outfit. Called a guy by his given first name....which was true. He is pissed they stopped the show because of his "behavior" when he has never missed a day of work, always shown up, and delivered perfectly on his job.

I think the network is the one that blew this way up. When Charlie first went to the hospital they should have just released a short statement saying they hope Charlie is better fast and back at work as scheduled. All would have been fine.

He is going to fight them for his pay for the canceled shows. I bet he wins since the only reason they canceled it was some statements he made to a few media outlets. Never even threatened anyone. Saying you could beat a guy up in the cage is not a threat.

I will say this though: The thought process that starts calling people Filthy is a deranged thought process... (just ask anyone that uses the word filthy...they will rant on it). Ocd and Alcohol is volatile. If you are going to be an alcoholic.....better hope you are of the hippie and not beating kind. He had a hot woman, regardless of his problems.
