Strangely enough, never made it there. The only 2 shows I ever saw in OKC were Pat Travers with Rainbow opening (shoulda been the other way around in my book) in the early 80s and Dokken opening for Judas Priest in 1986, both times at the University of Oklahoma arena in Norman. Wichita, KS was only 2 1/2 hours north of there, so it was not a stretch to get there, though both concerts were adventures to say the least.

The PT/Rainbow show, I hitchhiked down there. Had never seen Ritchie Blackmore live and really wanted to see him. I got there half an hour late thinking PT would be opening the show, only to discover to my horror that Rainbow was the opener, and I had missed most of their set. Got to see all of 15 minutes of Rainbow. Hung out to watch about half of Pat Traver's set, but had seen them a couple of times recently and was pissed I got to see so little of Ritchie. Hitchhiked back up to Wichita, which took me most of the night.

The Priest show was interesting. 3 friends of mine and I rode down in a van belonging to one of the other guys. Saw the show, had fun. Got outside and the starter was dead on the van.
I did not want to hang around there, I wanted to get back home, so I decided to hitch. I walked for 8 hours, only getting one short ride for a couple of freeway exits. By 10 AM I was about 20 miles north of OKC, it was in the upper 90s, and I was so fried, all I could do was sit down in the shade of an underpass and hope to catch a ride. Suddenly a car drove by with two chicks I knew who had gone down to the show. They had gotten a motel for the night, and were now on their way back. I was saved! They later said I looked so pathetically wretched sitting there by the side of the road, lol. So no sooner than I had gotten home, my friends pulled into the driveway with the van. One of them was my best friend who lived in the other half of the duplex I lived in. They had just hung out all night waiting for an auto parts store to open, had bought a new starter and installed it, and driven back.

Coulda suffered a lot less if I had just stayed there in OKC with them, and woulda got home at almost the same time I did. Oh well.

So long story short, I never saw a show at the Myriad.
