Here's my next purchase...



I've been doing quite a bit of comparing and the Voice Channel is an amazing bargain...

I'm assuming that's a pre-amp of some sort? I'm not overly savvy with this kind of stuff and all of the buttons and knobs frighten and anger me... I want to plug-in and go..

It's actually a tube driven, single channel strip with a class A preamp, as you would find on an expensive console...

But that One thing you purchased seems very handy and the reviews are spectacular...

nice.. tube is the way to go, no doubt.. I think you use GarageBand? - have you considered moving up to Logic? The sound quality is superior and the learning curve isn't that bad.. You'd get the most out of that pre-amp, that's for sure.

I really have no complaints with the One so far.. I think the sound on the vocal is very good for being recorded in my living room, with a built-in mic running directly into my iMac.. We're going to A/B the internal mic vs a Sure SM58 running through it this weekend... that should be fun.

Yeah, got the mic stand adapter and the long USB cable. It's a great little set-up.



I'm using Logic 9 Express. I find it's plenty for my needs. Logic X looks pretty sweet with only minor changes from 9 from what I've read. I can hook you up with a copy of 9 if you want to give it a go.

Good eye, it's a 94 EBMM EVH.. I bought it new back in the day. Hard to believe it's been 20 years already!

Maybe after I improve my playing a bunch more I'll step up from the wannabe SBMM AX3 I have now to an AX30D/40D or a Axis/SS. Me likey the look and proportions of EBMM's! Ed and EBMM really created an iconic style there.

Thanks, I love it more the longer I have it. There isn't a ton of Birdseye on this one.. I have an 01 Wolfgang Standard that has a fair amount, but the EBMM necks just don't have as much. Great playing guitar though. The neck feels great. EBMM makes a nice guitar.

Ed had little to do with the style...

This is true, there are pics of Ed with early prototypes that have the Axis logo on the headstock. Ed's contribution was the fantastic neck and pickups.
