Okay, this first one was my G & L into a Rockman into the back of a 3/4" video tape deck. A 2 minute 1 take improv over a riff a friend did . Not the greatest, but it has its moments.

If you think the drum machine's annoying, you should have heard the drummers we used to try to do this live.
Sounded like a herd of elephants falling down the stairs. Not that I blame 'em, you really have to have a double bass thing developed to deal with the stamina that it would take.

The fact of the matter is that most people who have the skill, experience or knowledge to criticize usually don't because they have the skill, experience or knowledge to know better.

My favorite part was knowing in advance Steve Vai had played all of the arpeggio sequences for both himself and Ralph Macchio(sp) - and anything else on the soundtrack not played by Ry Cooder, and then watching him have to act like he couldn't play the parts...now THAT'S acting!

              It's a bit silly though.

Going first is a crazy big advantage obviously and how come he suddenly can't bend a string at the end?

And where do all those Bill and Ted harmonies come from at the end of the kid's bit?

Ok I need to lighten up.

I think the cinematographic term is "suspension of disbelief"...
Meaning, though we know he couldn't bend the string because it was a note beyond the range of a 22-fret guitar neck - and you're not supposed to think about the fact that Macchio's Tele only had 21 frets....

I always thought if I was the Vai character at the end instead of storming off I would have stood there and said 'Pretty good effort for a first attempt huh?' and look pleased with myself.

Judging by the YouTube comments you always see, nowadays at the end Butler would say 'Have you got the tab for that?'.

I don't know if what I click will saddle me with mallware shit, but I'm enjoying the tunes, and the comedy.

Recently I've unburdened myself with verses and choruses and just solo all the way through it.

hmm, solo through the verse, solo through the chorus, except one spoken line that says don't bore us get to the solo.

This is why I initially said don't ask, as the memory hurts excruciatingly. Yep, alcohol was definitely involved. The tooth was impacted, and the pain was quite frankly so bad that I sought relief with a hammer. No luck, so I wound up going to the dentist the next day.

sorry man, that's some of the worst pain anyone could get.

hope the all-stars project is moving along, even more now that I've had a chance to hear what you guys are capable of.
