Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!
Yes, now we know Jay is the only person working...
[location: Jay's Boss's office]
Boss: Jay, where the hell were you last week?
Jay: Dude I went to NAMM.
Boss: oh do you have proof besides these strip club receipts?
Jay: I had my picture taken with Eddie Van fuckin Halen. Here!
Them's some seriously skanky looking fake nails on the broad holding that box of things that I have no idea what they do.

Something for the memorabilia collection... the pass that got me in to meet Ed.

Fortunately it doesn't seem to make a difference in the way she winds pickups. Kinda stoked to hear mine when it shows up. Also got (unless I like this new hybrid I'm getting better) the new set for the next build.

Due in great part to you I'm a Seymour Duncan convert.
I used to always get DiMarzio's but now I've had opportunities in live set ups to compare my SD guitars with them they sound better to me to varying degrees depending on the model. Also on your advice I've added brass blocks to two of my main guitars and it's made a significant difference. I truly appreciate that.
In this thread I'm playing Auriga because I can't help myself it goes with the culture here...
a cuntstellation
fuck your fucking framing
SD pickups, particularly the humbuckers, just sound better to my ears. Way more organic. I think at one point Dimarzio had a slight edge in noiseless single-coil department with the Virtuals, but that disappeared the moment that the Stack Plus series was released. They're one of the nicest group of people I've ever had the pleasure of "keenly hobbying" with, too. Hotel was a freakin studio apartment. Not to mention this was within staggering distance:
Quite honored to be one of their artist/bloggers and get to take part in some of their brainstorming sessions; to talk to MJ, who's a total sweetheart (not to mention legend). And I'm imagining she's going to nail the personal tweaked Hybrid I'm hearing in my head. That'll end up in the Bomber guitar. Getting to do a review of the Jason Becker signature pickup soon, too... something he'd developed with them before he became ill. Supposedly something like a cross between the (Custom-Shop only) 78 model and a JB. That'll be fun.
Here's something else from NAMM...
More from the Duncan visit.
Dimarzio is a good company. The thing is Seymour Duncan is probably the premier pickup experts on the planet. It's one thing to make a new pickup. It's a whole other thing to make a working replica of an old pickup. Nobody is going to touch Seymour Duncan on making custom pickups which is saying something because you are dealing with different covers, bobbins, magnet materials and magnetism levels. Also different types of wire. You just don't go out and order all those components. Some of that stuff is going to have to be made in house.
The devil is in the details and Seymour Duncan knows the details. Also their pickups have always been quality. They never made junk.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!
Ed always said that front pickup was a junker that was never hooked up. Then of course you have that old corroded selector switch. I guess he wanted Seymour Duncan to make and age everything to make a complete Frankenstrat replica? Well there ya go. Seymour can make something that sounds like the old one and age it to look like it too. Getting the right patina and old dirty look is an art.
Meh, not hating on them but IMO trademarking "double cream" pickup bobbins when Gibson and other manufacturers were doing it long before you knew it was cool is kind of beyond weak sauce. Case in point: From way back in the day, the original Alan Holdsworth pickup.
I still haven't broke down and replaced one of my HS3s with a YMJ...
They gotta be good as Yngwie switched virtually overnight...
Here's a cool clip...
I'm sure they did, but Yngwie doesn't seem to be a sellout...
BTW, this is kinda funny...
Yngwank's not a sellout??
Fuck man, you have been huffing too much car wash grease
Is that not the big bird out of heart
I think that bloke was extracting the urine..
Here's what I did this weekend... I have a singer who is putting words to it.. that's later.

I made it using Logic 9. The guitars are plugged right into the Mac (fuck you, kristy) using their amps and effects. The drums are assembled from loops. I have to say - I am very impressed with the sound quality of Logic.
dont forget to post it when you get the singer added
Sure do...
You can find that thing for $99
Check out the reviews...
Fuck my there are enough lights on the thing ... Very festive
Here's the finished product...

I ended up getting one of these: http://apogeedigital.com/products/one-mac.php
Nice little unit.. works great and solves the mic & pre-amp thing in 1 shot...
That thing sounds like a good idea...
Especially for recording quick, fleeting ideas...
That solo cracks me up...
