Need a fast guitar with awsome whammybar!!

My parker fly is sooo fucking shitty at the moment.Don't know people in Holland who can adjust the tremelo system etc.
I can't sell it cause it's the only thing my oldman gave me after painting his house.

Now..I'm pretty poor at the moment but I need a jackson,charvel,ibanez or something with an awsome whammy bar that can take alot of shit.
Anybody know some good deals out there?Or new brands that are cool?

I just made a bid for an ibanez satriani model around 400 dollars but I hear the tremelo sux sometimes on the cheap series.

well the Jackson Dinky reverse you're looking at will do the trick if you're on a budget.

of course, you could plunk down twice that or more and get a neck thru Jackson and be in heaven.

The Parker Fly was one of those futuristic jobs with carbon fiber and instead of a truss rod it had a high stressed titanium wire. The trem is weird. I played one once and decided to pass. We've tried all this new modern stuff but in the end, it's always back to a piece of wood.

I think the Vernon Reid model of parker might be cool.Has floyd rose instead of the tremelo plate.
But way to much money for me.

Some inexpensive guitars can be good. I bought some Epiphones that sound and play good but the switches and pots were always cheap and needed to be replaced. What's nice about a Floyd Rose licensed trem is it always can be replaced with the real thing later. Some of the cheaper ones are made from soft metal and that leads to problems later on.

A cheap licensed Floyd Rose isn't going to fall apart immediately. What usually happens is the pivot edges wear, the fine tuners strip out, or the bridge saddles wear quicker. You will have at least one refret job by the time the trem starts going to pot.

Tuners, bridges, electronics are all things you can replace and upgrade yourself. Really what you want to buy is a good piece of wood. If it sounds good unplugged you can always make it sound good through an amp but if it sound like shit unplugged, nothing can be done. You can't polish a turd by changing the pickups.

Have you looked into used USA Wolfgang specials? I picked up a beautiful used Goldtop about a year ago for 675 USD with shipping included. It sounds fantastic, is always in tune and the bridge is rock solid...

The shit thing is ebay usa has much more to offer but alot don't ship worldwide.
The schecter I want is 750 dollars in the netherlands and on a USA webstore it's only 400.
Only ships free in USA.Some brands are not even aloud to ship to Europe from USA.

...You probably couldn't go wrong with the Schecter... starting to see those around. And yes, you can always upgrade the hardware, pickups, etc after the fact...

I can't try out these guitars cause I'm gonna buy it online.
But I'm thinking of the Schecter ocean blue or this ESP.
Both pretty much the same price.
I like the ESP.
What would you suggest?

That's a Gotoh bridge on the ESP. Peavey used those on the EVH Wolfgang guitars. I have one on mine and it's held up. Not as good of quality as a real German made Floyd Rose but it gets the job done. ESP has been around. They used to make the necks for Kramer in the 80's.

The uneven color could be due to lighting or exposure of the camera. The Schecter looks nice. I have no idea what the bridge is. I have the gut feeling both guitars are about the same quality.

I snagged the same guitar off of Ebay. The previous owner must have not played it much because the neck was still unworn and clean. It's easy on strings because they last a long time on this guitar. In my opinion these are one of the best used guitar buys going. Great guitars.

the local pawnbrokers are always a good option too... i snagged an '86 ibanez roadstar 2 with original edge trem and nut for 300 aus bucks a few years ago. beautiful neck on it, solid hunks of poplar for the body, satch heaven.

I totally agree on the Specials... the only mods I did to my Standard were rewiring the 'tone' knob to be a volume for the bridge pickup and refretted it with stainless steels... I must say, the dual volumes is a nice touch on these. I feel they should have come from the factory that way.
