I've got that show on dvd, the only 1984 show I've seen. I'm sure there may be others but the only one I've seen. Wish the camera was a bit closer
    This space for rent.

It's the only complete 84 show out there... I'd LOVE to get another 84, or ANY complete show that isn't from 82/83....

And damn, this video is really well done!!

I've got this one too. I don't really understand all the praise it gets though? I wish there was another '84 show available. Saw them that year, and was lucky enough to catch them on a great night. Seeing how that was the year they were shot to the stratosphere, you'd think someone out there would have some kickass footage. Better than Montreal.

So fucking cool. I really liked where they showed the crowd. People were out of their minds going wild. Van Halen owned the world at this time. Biggest traveling party ever. With MTV out & them making videos, there has to be a full length pro-shot 1984 concert in Eddies vault. Just has to be.

I was 12 on this tour when they came through San Diego. Wasn't allowed to go to concerts yet. My older bro went & brought me back a shirt & told me all about it. He had 4th row and said Dave was hammered and hilarious.

Reminds me of that pic in Daves book "New Years eve? No, just a typical Tuesday"

The guy who edited it did a really good job. it kinda bugged me the first time I watched it, but started to make it better as I viewed it more times.

Whoever edited that did a good job. Great find Jimi.

Well, all things considered, it's a pretty fucking grate recording of a complete 84 show.. The audio is actually pretty respectable, and an upgraded version has recently been released. We all wish there was a better zoom, but for 1984 technology, it's the shit. This taper captured just about every big rock band rolling through Montreal from about 82-87/88ish and his cam got better every year.

There are definitely pro-shot 84 shows in the vaults, but will they ever see the light of day in our lifetimes?

I know... WTF??? That clip only makes me angry for the most part... Man, I'd push my mother down a flight of stairs to get my grubby hands on some of this pro-shot material....

Actually in light of the history of the band...it was nice to watch MA. Ed did a great spontaneous solo....and since I have watched Ed play a million times.....it was nice to see a bass player that was totally into it. Hope Wolfie starts to show showmanship on the the record and the next tour. Just like the albums....you can see what Ed plays in the Aural.....he is such a bad ass on this.

And it was funny to see the part where the fan staged jumped and had to be pulled off DLR....classic.

Yeah, didn't mean to sound like I was putting it down necessarily, I'll take anything from 1984 gladly. Just wish there wasn't so many "distant shots" of the band. I have a hard time watching this one after Largo '82 dude, where the footage is killer and the performance fantastic. It's a shame Ed can't figure this shit out, that we want some vintage footage from each tour.

Our BG - Blonddlrgirl777 - was there in Montreal, in the first row, she told about it here a couple of years ago.
I think I once saw a vid of "Jump" from the same gig, where Dave did flips on his head between two lines, doing
a kind of cat walk... awesome!!
