It's obvious there some disharmony in the Pistons locker room between the players and head coach John Kuester.
Seven players missed part or all of today's shootaround in Philadelphia before tonight's game in what the Free Press is reporting as a type of player protest against the coach.
Kuester responded by not playing any of the players tonight, even though five of them -- Austin Daye, Tracy McGrady, Ben Wallace, Chris Wilcox and Rodney Stuckey -- were in uniform on the bench. Detroit played only six players in the 110-94 loss tonight. Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince were not on the bench in uniform.
The game was televised in the Detroit and Philadelphia areas. Comcast SportsNet's coverage of the game showed what may have been the most telling sign of the season.
During the second quarter, Kuester argued with an official, was slapped with two technical fouls and was ejected. As the coach was being escorted off the court, cameras showed McGrady laughing on the bench. Later, the cameras showed McGrady, Stuckey and Wallace sharing a laugh right after Kuester went to the locker room.
McGrady told the Free Press the players were laughing about something else.
