    Worst albums in rock history?

think I have a pretty decent list going:

Chocalate Starfish and Hot Dog flavored Water- Limp Bizkit
    4- Foriegner
    Kilroy Was Here-Styx
    OU812- Van Halen
    Too Cold-Vanilla Ice
    Ten Thousand Fists-Disturbed
    Mezmerize-System of a Down
    Minutes to Midnight-Linkin Park
    Van Halen 3-Van Halen
    Everybody's Crazy-Michael Bolton

Disturbed and System of a Down are the worst hunk of shit bands to ever release an album, shit lyrics mixed in with shit guitar playing

Van Halen 3 and OU812 I thought were no brainers. "How many say I" is so amazingly awful, I would venture to say it's one of the most hilarious tracks ever made, next o "Up for Breakfast" BTW, speaking of which does anyone have the video that big fat sammy made set to that song?
Still waiting for a relevant Browns Team

Sadly, I must admit this one was pretty bad, even though it was dedicated to Me

...I actually like "Big Generator" and some of the more cheesey songs off the Yes albums of the late 80's

My mom was big into them and used to play them a lot, along with the "Alan Parson Project" when she was growing up, in fact, there's a vinyl I have of hers by them "I Robot". which I have yet to check out.

So, yeah, there's going to be some memories tied into that era of YES. Still better than say, "Disturbed" or any of those I just listed.

"Big Generator" is actually a pretty good album.

It gets panned because it came after the monster smash "90125", which was phenomenally brilliant.

And Pink Floyd's "Animals" being mentioned in a thread with this title is just retarded.

Whatever, dude. Pink Floyd's music is like going to a funeral. Shit solid boring prog rock. And Water's lyrics are what's retarded blah blah blah bad politicians blah bah blah my dead father blah blah blah no one knows how rough it is to be a millionaire rock star with a downtown Manhattan apartment blah blah blah.

There are millions of horrible rock albums The ones I choose were due to bad production, ego tripping, being over paid and/or over-bloated thinking you can put out anything for gullible fans, past their prime, no ideas and just plain stupid (i.e., Ted Nugent).

Throw in The Clash's Combat Rock or The Cult's Sonic Temple if any criticism of Pink Floyd upsets you so much. Geesh!

There's only one "Clash" album which truly belongs on this list.....

...and that's because it wasn't really a Clash album at all. Even calling it a Joe Strummer solo project would be a stretch, because their idiot manager Bernie Rhodes had more input in the songwriting than Strummer did.

Without Mick Jones & Topper Headon they really should have called it a day, which even Joe himself admitted not long after this horrid turd was released. He said he would on consider two songs on the record worthy of saving at all: "This Is England" (which was the advance single) and "North and South". That was my own impression of the record, even before I heard Joe say it.

So you make a list of albums that you don't like and decide they're the "Worst albums in rock history"?

That doesn't work for me, especially in the case of "Animals", which has sold umpteen million copies and regularly makes it into the BEST rock albums of all time lists.

If this forum was all about people pissing on stuff they don't like, we'd be here all day.

BTW, the lyrics you seem to be talking about sound more like "Wish you were here" or "The final cut" albums.

By that time Scott Whathisface had destroyed his own band through stupid drug addiction. He took something good and laid it to waste and really, STP never fully recovered from it.

    ......jesus fucking christ.

I wish I had an album worth getting hostile over.

After reading this post, I'm seriously considering investing in pharmaceuticals.

Nah. Go easy on him. There are just some albums that hold a special meaning to a person for 1 reason or another. That we truly love with everything in us and we will defend it as if it were our child. I get it. Dude loves that particular album and took great offense when someone else slammed it. No biggie. Everyones ear is different which is why music is so terrific.

But if you get in to pharmaceuticals can I has samples?

well it's all objective anyway.... it's well known that i think 'animals' is the best floyd album. and everyone hates 'the elder' but for me it was the 'leaving school and coming of age' soundtrack. so it'll always have that special vibe for me. 'under the rose' fricking rocks

Yah, No.4 is a great STP album. I don't get some people. VH3. Filty Mouth by Dave (I did like a couple blues tunes on it) & F.U.C.K. have it beat by a mile.

There should be a distinction between "sucks" and "epically sucks". Sucks would be used almost casually, as the listener is pretty much indifferent to the noise coming out of the speakers. Epically sucks would mean the listener at one time was emotionally invested in the artist, and simply can not believe the amount of dreck that is assaulting his/her ears.

Kristy is absolutely correct, these albums blow chunks all over the dashboard. And even though some folks have pointed out that Animals is a good album, I must admit that I have never heard it sober. In any event, it was a major let down after Wish You Were Here. Cool album cover, though.

Okay, I'll admit on record that 'Wish You Were Here' as the song alone as some character to it. Probably the best thing they ever recorded. But listening to those early Pink Floyd recordings is like being injected with a paralytic barbiturate and 'Animals' with its 11-plus minute of George Orwell Animal Farm parallels and pseudo-political rhetoric just innervates and bores. I'll also go on recorded saying how much I liked the first Gilmour solo album but really, 'The Wall'? I could never take slight interest in hearing about how rough it is to be a millionaire rock star. I'm glad that for the most part prog rock is dead and Pink Floyd is the main reason why.

Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!

Jesus Christ, I'd forgotten about that album. It wasn't just bad, it was ghastly and insulting to anyone that paid hard earned cash for it. At least when I bought Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music, I felt I owned something of value.

    Radiohead, talk about being bloated.

    Typical Radiohead day...

Thom Yorke: "I think we should put out another album..."

Jonny Greenwood: "Brilliant idea but what to record?"

Thom Yorke: "How about a bunch of superfluous synth with a lot of unnecessary guitar overdubs low in the mix and me singing GAHHHHHHHH GAHHHHHHH GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?"

    Typical Radiohead fan:

"Brilliant! These guys are absolutely brilliant!"
