You can sit back relax, have a few drinks, wireless internet, no security shit, no arriving at the airport ages in advance, no travelling to and from the airport.

The US is a big place but definitely for journeys up to about 500 miles fast rail is less stressful and tiring than air or road, and about as fast as air when you factor in all the shit.
