Heard something on the radio the other day about some ball parks trying out a "self serve" beer tap that operates pretty much the same way that the self serve soda fountains do at most fast food joints.
One of those things that sounds like a great idea, but might be poor in execution..... mostly because beer costs a lot more than high fructose corn poison, and the only thing that happens to you after refilling your 64 oz Coca Cola cup 12 times is that you really need to piss. Little more problematic with beer, from the legal standpoint.

I dunno if it's the same thing, but I saw some awesome thing on Bar Rescue, where you pay for something like a chip that entitles you to a limited number of beverage refills. It's almost like getting beer from an Apple store contraption more than a soda fountain. So it is not unlimited, or a soda fountain free-for-all...

I was at a Disney resort and they have RFID tags in the bottom of the paper cups. The machine reads it and then authorizes the tap. It allows refills for a set period of time then the machine denies the cup.
I thought it was pretty smart.
Always nice to start a series against the Sux with a W.Originally Posted by Bob_R

You're gonna hear the angels sing...
My Cardinals are murdering everything in their path . A MLB best 22 - 7 record and a .759 winning percentage , everything is definitely looking very good for Cardinal Nation so far . Second baseman Matt carpenter is on a world class tear and the pitching staff minus ace Adam Wainwright has been dominant . Though lots can and will happen between now and October it certainly looks like the road to the 2015 World Series winds through St. Louis once again . The tragic passing of rookie outfielder Oscar Tavares has been quite the incentive . He was truly a star in the making . Go Cards damnitt !

ASG is tonight and not a single team is running away with their division.
Crazy that Stanton is still leading the leagues in dingers and he's been out like two weeks...
Anyone see that Arod and NYY came to terms on the bonus payouts? Ton of monies going to charities and the Play Ball deal. I think that was the right thing to do for all involved.
Yankees got swept by the second place Blue Jays this weekend. The lead is down to a game and a half. The dog days of summer are upon us.
Man, the Tigers have really fucked up this season! Be it the manager with no prior professional experience, the shitty bullpen, Miggy injured, and now they have to hire another GM. The Lions season can't start soon enough.
The bullpen, year after year, yikes. Maybe Dombrowski convinced Illich we didn't need bullpen help and that got him fired? The firing and when it happened does seem strange. Still, as always, Go Tigers!
Yanks back in first. At least till later this afternoon.
Fuck the Blow Jays!
Looked like game 7 of a World Series last night in Toronto. Even had drama unfolding right till the end.
That Miller guy... Think he can turn anyone into a basket case in 25 pitches or less...
SSSoooo , should we bank on a Cards vs. Jays World Series or a Cards vs. Yanks World Series ? HHHmm , the mind wanders........
The AL East could come down to the last day... It'll be fun to watch it play out, for sure.
OK, Yanks took 2 of 3 from the Jays in Toronto to leave with a 1/2 game first place lead. Yanks play tonight the Jays are off so we're either tied or a game up after tonight.
Sssooo , my magnificent Cardinals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 11 - 1 last night for their MLB best 100th. victory and clinching their 3rd. straight National League Central Division title . This is their 5th. straight year of making the post season and their 13th. in 20 years . Not bad .
This has been a maddening year of continuous setbacks yet the Cardinals have shown pure resiliency . Injury after injury to top-notch players all season yet the bench players and a trio of amazing rookies more than stepped up and carried the load . Truly a team effort .
Yes I know , there is nothing more unpredictable than postseason sports . Don't I know it . I am downright proud of this team and their never say die attitude . Go Cards damnitt !
How bout them Dodgers?
Yanks are in.
The Angels have to win to stay alive. But Houson can still eliminate them by beating Arizona. If Texas beats the Angels they take the division. Houston gets the last playoff spot. If Houston loses and the Angels win Texas wins the division leaving the Angels and Astros tied for the last AL playoff spot. If Texas loses and Houston wins they're tied for first in the AL West. A one game playoff will settle who takes the division and who gets the last AL playoff spot.
Let's go Yankees!!
I'll watch the Cubs vs. Pirates game out of morbid curiosity.
Stick a fork in the Yankees. They're done.
They were listless. So glad I watched almost no baseball this year. Could not get behind my team having A-Rod, CC, Tex and Beltran as the veteran leadership. Probably skip next year, too.
"Start spreading the news, they're leaving today".....
My Buccos have a tough task tonight, Arrieta is a fuckin' beast....
They get this game into the bullpens, then we got 'em....

Houston deserved it. Kudos to them. Now I have to decide who to root for.
For sure it's not the Dodgers, Pirates, Astros, Blue Jays.
As a Yankees fan I'm not against the Mets like many others. We don't have much hatred for others besides the Red Sux. What's to hate? We have by far the most championships.
OK, I've decided. Let's go Mets!
Go Rangers!
Fuck the Blow Jays!
Utley has a history of dirty plays with the Mets, makes a blatant one without even attempting to reach a base resulting in a broken leg and gets rewarded by the umps, very pathetic. Great series so far
I don't think it was that dirty or that he intended to injure Tejada. Tejada should have known Utley would try to break up the double play and acted accordingly. He shouldn't have made that pirouette move to throw to first. If you watch the replay Utley looked like he was trying to touch the bag so he wouldn't be called for interference but he pulled back his hand as he collided with Tejada. If you're a Met fan you're gonna call it dirty but Dodger fans are going to say it was just aggressive base running.
Let's go Mets
