Most surreal thing I ever saw in baseball was Pedro Martinez grabbing Zim by the head and flipping to the ground. I'll never hear his name and not think of that.
This series with the A's has been a bit of a challenge for Machado to deal with...
Pine tar wasn't where it should have been this time... So he says at 33 seconds in...

I'll give him a pass this time, he's what 21? Still young and dumb...

Not MLB but hoping UVA can pull out the CWS tonight..
Went and rewatched the Zimmer/Pedro thing..Pedro could have done worse..forgot how ugly that game had gotten.
Wasn't really blaming him, but shit, watch it again and tell me if you'd do the same thing to some angry old guy who's fender you just dented with your car in a Home Depot parking lot. You'd side step or simply hold the guy back. A cranium grab 'n flip probably wouldn't register as an option.
Probably not in a parking lot but on that field if you touch him at all, some yankee is gonna jack your jaw while your hands are holding him up..I think Zimmy would have busted his ass regardless..Pedro just helped him along a bit
I know the old boy was pissed but he needed to realize his old ass should have stayed in the dugout...or away from any sox..
I remember the post game. He was crying and apologizing like crazy. I admired his passion, but yeah, he shoulda kept his ass on the bench and let the infantile millionaires duke it out.

Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!

his message on the score board
Well it's closer to the end of the season. Which team is going to kick the bucket first, as far as not making the playoffs are concerned?
Yanks beat 2 of the top 3 Tigers pitchers this week. The Tigers fourth starter is a mere 13-5. Yankees are 3 outs away from taking 3 of 4 from Detroit.
Can't see how it's not going to be Detroit vs. Oakland for the AL championship.
Took 3 of 4 from the Tigers!
Baltimore is so young and hungry, it's going to be tough to catch them. Not impossible but tough. Still have lots of games to play against them.
NYY gotta take every series from here on out (with a few sweeps mixed in too) to be playing in Oct. O's still haven't run with it...
The Dude abides...
I was listening to an interview with Bridges and he was saying how he was nervous about having to do the pitch the next day.
He had gone to a coach the day before and was saying that the only way he was getting them on target was aiming 30 feet too high and 6 foot to the left.
The interviewer said 'you should just bowl the thing like the Dude' and they both laughed.
Checked on YouTube and there it was...
Hey Texas Rangers! YER OUTTA HERE! No playoffs for you.
My tickets in the mail yet?
I take that back. What I meant to say was: Hey Texas Rangers! Go fuck yourselves you bunch of pathetic LOSERS! NO PLAYOFFS FOR YOU!
It's actually nice to see Baltimore kicking some ass. I am tired of the the same teams all the time in the East (Yankees, Red Sox) blah blah...
I'm kinda rooting for Oakland cuz they picked up my boy John Lester
Hey Boston, Colorado & Arizona! Kiss your fuckin' season goodbye! LOL
Whoops! I forgot to mention that the Twins season is also fucked.
WTF Tigers?!?! 11-4 to the dead last Twins, are you fucking kidding me?!?!
It's down to Oakland and Seattle for the last playoff spot in th AL. If Seattle loses tonight Oakland's in and they're out. If not Oakland would have to lose their last two games and Seattle win both of theirs to force a one game playoff to see who plays in another one game playoff.
Well that went down to the wire! I'm glad the Tiger's bullpen finally pulled their heads out of their asses today. Now it's off to kick Baltimore's ass in the ALDS!
Im almost feeling bad for Detroit right now...talk about an embarrassing game.
I guess I should have said inning..that bullpen really fucked up..O's look strong.
Go Orioles. Nice to see Boston and NY out for a change. BTW I am a Boston fan

Our ace got his ass handed to him yesterday. Zach Greedy takes the mound for us tonight. I'd like to see us get a win but it wouldn't bother me to see Greedy get his ass handed to him too. I'm getting to the point of saying fuck baseball because of greedy bastards like him.
I was right about the Dodger's bullpen. Greinke left the game in the 7th with a 2 run lead and 2 batters later the score was tied. Luckilly Matt Kemp homered in the 8th and the closer got the job done to even the series. If we can win at least one game in St Louis the last game will be here in L A. The announcers last night think Kershaw will pitch game 4 in St Louis. If it goes to a game 5 Greinke will probably pitch. The Cards have a stronger bullpen but we have a better closer and a big advantage when it comes to pinch hitters. If we don't advance I know a few players won't be Dodgers next season hopefully starting with Brian Wilson. He sucks.
Somewhere Clayton Kershaw is laying in the fetal position sucking his thumb and muttering , " I am Brad Lidge...I am Brad Lidge...I am Brad Lidge....."
I wonder if Don Mattingly will be fired ? The NLDS series between the Dodgers and my Cardinals was much closer than the final result . I do believe Mattingly mis-managed here and there but did the best he could with what he had . As great as Kershaw is , maybe it's time to keep him at a pitch count .
Here's to another potential classic NLCS between 2 of the National Leagues oldest , historic , and championship heavy warhorses . May the best team actually win fair and square . If the Cardinals pull this off , I would like nothing more than a re-match with the cross-state KC Royals . I do believe we owe 'em one ! Go Cards damnitt !
