    Video Game Deaths

Wow watching this I realise just how much time I spent playing video games in the 80s and early 90s.

A nice blast from the past... Golden Axe, DOUBLE DRAGON... fuckin' awesome shit, right there.

But why "deaths"? This isn't some sort of "games are violent" nonsense, is it? I mean, it's just pixels. 'Twas pixels back then & it's pixels now.

Still, a nice video. Gotta get me 'ands on some of those & replay 'em.

    Cheers! :bottle:

I can't believe we used to pay a quarter to play the shit. Back in the 80's we would have creamed ourselves if what the kids today have cheap access to fell in our laps in the day. Free internet porn and a video arcade at home that you can play all you want and never run out of quarters. Also, nobody is home because both parents work. No wonder the kids now are a bunch of fat fuck pussies. They have a total paradise and it's made them weak.

EXCELENT news, if watching that video makes you nostalgic! Today, the Streets of Rage Remake has finally been released!

I have found out about this game maybe two years ago, but it has been in development for a little over 8 years.

It's NINETY-THREE LEVELS of pure, CLASSIC beat 'em up GOODNESS!!! And it's COMPLETELY FREE!!!

8 endings, ALL the levels from Streets of Rage 1, 2 & 3, ALL the characters, including the different versions, etc...

    Get it HERE!!!

I've just finished the 219MB download. I'm off!

    Cheers! :bottle:

At one time I was buying arcade games online & from auctions, then refurbishing them to re-sell. The bonus was we got to play them while we had them. Had 18 in the garage all working at my peak. Ghosts n Gobins, Ivan Stewarts Off-Road, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Ring King, Double Draqon, Renegade, etc.....

Funny thing though, even though I had them all set to free-play, the kids in the neighborhood weren't interested other than maybe playing a couple games to check em out. Then they would head upstairs to the sons room to play Playstation. Weird. Oh well....I enjoyed the hell out of those games. I did keep one for myself that I completely rebuilt the cabinet & customized everything. 1942

Cool. I've always thought of getting one for the garage but they aren't as cheap as you would think and I'm pretty sure I would get bored with whatever game I chose really quickly.

I've gotten some as low as $125 in working condition. If it is a game you love, it won't get boring. You can adjust the game board to increase difficulty, give more or fewer players, etc

But if you really want to build your own & want ALL the games, check this out. They play 100's of games from 1 cabinet.

    Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator

By my personal recommendation is to get the cocktail table size that can play 6, 12, or 18 games. Just have to buy the electronics. The table you can build yourself.

*And if anyone is interested in actually building one of these someday, I have the detailed plans & blueprint instructions in digital file format. I would be happy to email them to you if you send me a PM. They are in .PDF format.

    You certainly would.

Games back then weren't half as addictive as they are these days. Yet, even today, you'll get bored with one game pretty fast. Once you beat it, you have to be unhealthily obsessed to play through all of it immediately afterwards.

If a game gives me a fantastic experience, I'll buy it, 'coz I know years later I'll want to play it again. But that's YEARS later.

I thought of getting meself a cabinet with MAME, but it's far too expensive for the usage it's gonna get. I mean, I can just alt-tab & launch the friggin' thing if I feel like it. Why spend more money & clutter up the house?

    Cheers! :bottle:

"Monkey Island", "Leisure Suit Larry" and "Sam & Max Hit The Road" ruled my computer back in the day.
(somehow Monkey Island's invaded my iPhone as well...)

IMO, Sierra had the best "deaths" in games...

I really should check out Telltale Games' "Tales Of Monkey Island", given how excited I got from going through their rendition of "Sam & Max: Freelance Police" and "Back To The Future"...
