Demo of Celestions and different cabs

Here is a cool video I found demoing the Marshall VM against different cabs with different Celestions and 4x12/2x12s. I like V30s but the comparison makes me want to try the Greenbacks in my Marshall 1936 2x12.

    Marshall 4x12 Greenbacks
    Marshall 4x12 V30s
    Marshall 4x12 G12T-75s
    Carvin Legacy 4x12 V30s
    Peavey JSX 4x12
    Marshall Jubilee 2x12 G12T-75s
    Marshall 1936 2x12 V30
    Marshall 1922 2x12 G12T-75s
    Fender Eminence 15"

    Nice, thanks for posting.

The Greenbacks certainly do sound like the "classic" sound IMO, the V30s are a bit darker, and the Legacy V30s sounded a lot like the 75s than the regular V30s to me, which is odd. Wasn't so into the 15. I think I like the Greenbacks overall, with the Marshall/Celestion (as opposed to the Carvin) V30 set-up 2nd. This kinda makes me want to check out some Scumbacks even more since they're supposed to sound better than the reissue Celestion Greenbacks.

Yes I dig the Greenbacks as well. They have that creamy smooth crunchiness to them.

Vintage Greenbacks are ingrained in my mind. It's all I've ever played though in my rig since I was in the 10th grade.. I've tried many different kinds, but I always stay with them.
I've always used the combination of my beat up old lated 60's Marshall "basketweave" slant (25w. Celestions) and my late 60's Hiwatt straight cab loaded with original 25w. British Fane speakers. The Fane's
deliver great mids- lows. The Greenback's character really starts to come alive around 45 watts.

i like the g12t 75 for similar reasons jimi, over time ya just get used to the attack. and of course, i love a lot of compression and gain in my tone and to my ear they reproduce the 'ash' sound most accurately.

I have always been a fan of the g12t 75 also until a little over a year ago when I got some V30s. Now I'm wondering what else I'm missing. Me thinks the greenbacks need a try
