Seems like the "Signature Model" craze is bigger than it's ever been. Here's a thread for the lame ones...

The Washburn Ace Frehley model.
Dean USA CHRIS IMPELLITTERI SHRED SIGNATURE SPIDER
Mmmmm K...
WTF?
"Marcus Henderson Apparition Signature Guitar"
Neal Schon had a signature model guitar in the 80's that was a dork fest. The Sarzo Slammer bass was pretty gay. Also, the Silvertone Paul Stanley signature guitar was pure aesthetic rape.
Did Vinny Vincent ever have one?

It is dumb, the idea is dumb, and well, not quite as 'ulgly' as some of these whack jobs, but the sheer idiocy involved in even considering something like this is mind-boggling.

Well, the downside of Janie running Experience Hendrix is that his name is stamped on everything under the sun.
The upside is that this policy does result in Hendrix-related stuff I'm interested in (specifically recordings and films) being made available for purchase...unlike, say, the Van Halen line of products.
On the headstock, does it say "Bret Michaels" or "First Act"? It's hard to tell.
Anyway, that bald squatter has got alot of nerve selling some fruity shit like that to people.
Apparently they are Ł280 here, that's like $400 for something that looks like it's from Toys R Us and is a credibility black hole for anyone who touches it.
Super expensive, high quality bass but... rather ugly and ungainly.
this one on the other hand....
I think even Sarzo might be ashamed of this

The trouble with the Sarzo sig bass is that it's covered in Rudy's spit from him licking it
I've always hated the way this looks...
This is even worse...
Never had the desire to run out and buy a Ibanez Jem. But I wouldn't turn one down if someone offered one dirt cheap. These fuckers are pure shred.
I don't think these are ugly at all.....
I dig the Jem series too. Some look better than others, but not much from the 80's stands the test of time. Very comfortable and easy to play.
PRS Mark Tremonti Signature Model
This fucking Creed douche bag gets a 'signature' model????
i've had a few jems over the years, they are good guitars. mostly. they kinda feel a bit fragile, keeping a floating trem operating optimally at maximum abuse levels is a bit of work. also seen quite a few with twisted necks, and bad fretwork. these were more aftermarket issues though. i agree the white one looks horrendous. like a mafia wedding gift.
steve probably broke more than they sold in the first year.(1987).

One of the ongoing topics of discussion between my best friend and I is how guitarists who only have a few albums out and who did not arrive on the public scene until just a few years ago already have a signature model.
We laugh at this.
I can see an iconic guitarist (spEd, Beck, Page, Clapton, Rhodes, Downing, Hendrix, Malmsteen, etc.) having one, but now apparently Joe Blow can have a signature model.
I mean, there are guitarists now I have never even heard of or read anything about, much less HEARD, who have signature models.
I find it stupid.
If you are not a household name, or a legendary icon in rock music, why in the FUCK do you think you deserve to have a signature model?????
