Why does Gibson keep doing this shit!!
Sammy Hagar Signature Explorer
Sammy Hagar's scorching vocals and Gibson-fueled riffs have been the driving force for more than 60 million record sales, and the Red Rocker continues to explore new creative heights with his "supergroup" Chickenfoot, with drummer Chad Smith, bassist Michael Anthony and lead guitarist Joe Satriani. To stamp this star's inimitable style on a guitar that is just right for this heavy-rocking, hard-driving new project, Gibson USA introduces the Sammy Hagar Explorer. Crafted in the image of the original Explorer of 1958—a guitar that was blindingly ahead of its time back in the day—and graced with an original blend of Sammy's Red Rocker and Chickenfoot styling, the Sammy Hagar Explorer is an eye-catching axe from every angle, and equipped for everything from searing to sublime tonal adventures, too.
Like every great electric guitar from Gibson USA, the Sammy Hagar Explorer begins with a foundation of supreme tonewoods. The body is crafted from solid mahogany and dressed with a cream binding—an elegant touch for an Explorer. It is dressed in Gibson's unique "Red Rocker" finish in hand-sprayed high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, and adorned with a secret "ghost image" of the Chickenfoot logo randomly placed on the back, an emblem that can only be seen when viewed from a particular angle in the right light. A quarter-sawn mahogany neck is glued-in in traditional Explorer style for supreme upper-fret access, and carved to a slim, fast profile that measures .800" at the first fret and .850" at the 12th. The rosewood fingerboard is also bound in cream, and the classic "drooped" six-in-line Explorer headstock carries a truss-rod cover with Red Rocker "R".
To power it all right over the top, Gibson USA has loaded the Sammy Hagar Explorer with a pair of its finest pickups. The zebra-coil '57 Classic in the neck position carries a smooth Alnico II magnet and is wound to the specs of a vintage PAF pickup, for creamy, rich tones with plenty of articulation and bite. A zebra-coil Burst Bucker 3 in the bridge position carries a few more turns of wire to emulate the tone of a PAF at the hotter end of the vintage spectrum, and is made with an unpolished Alnico II magnet like the originals, all of which yields plenty of grind and sting when pushed through a cranked amp. Anchored by the classic pairing of Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece at one end and a set of Mini-Grovers at the other, the Sammy Hagar Explorer exudes ringing resonance and sustain, and takes you from subtle ballad to screaming rocker with ease.
Check it out now at your authorized Gibson dealer, and grab a scorching slab of Red Rockin' action. All guitars include a Gibson hardshell case with owner's manual, adjustment literature, and Gibson's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Service.
Ok here's a quiz, how many mistakes can you find in the opening sentence?
Sammy Hagar's scorching vocals and Gibson-fueled riffs have been the driving force for more than 60 million record sales, and the Red Rocker continues to explore new creative heights with his "supergroup" Chickenfoot, with drummer Chad Smith, bassist Michael Anthony and lead guitarist Joe Satriani.
So basically the extraordinary evolution of Hagar's bullshit has now reached the point where his guitar playing is responsible for all the sales of Van Halen I and 1984 CDs in the late 80s and 90s.
"scorching vocals"
"driving force"
"more than 60 million record sales"
"explore new creative heights"
To those who know the truth, these phrases can easily be replaced by:
"screaming that pretends to be singing"
"driving good bands into the ground"
"gradually dipping sales"
"creative dead end"
You missed 'Red Rocker' which can easily be replaced with 'Tiresome AOR twat'.
I don't even have the words to convey my thoughts. Gag!
That guitar would make a fine club to beat Sammy with.
And all for the low, low price of $2,849!! I'll take 2 of them! Gibson has really gone downhill the past few years.
Gibson has been downhill during most of my lifetime. I remember grabbing a Les Paul in a store to try it out and the frets were sticking out the ends of the fret board. The problem is when you have a legendary name and classic designs people want, you tend to let quality slide.
I attended a bass guitar seminar taught by Jack Casady and he said he bought a Gibson Les Paul bass in a guitar store by the Chelsae Hotel in NYC. He loved that bass and approached Gibson to see if the custom shop could make him a few more. It turns out Gibson sent all the old tooling to Korea so they said why not make the bass a Epiphone. Jack said fine and got in contact with the Epiphone people who he said were much better to deal with than the Gibson USA people. Anyways that became the Jack Casady signature. Jack said they spent a lot of time getting the pickup and and variable transformer right. He said he probably got a better guitar out of Epiphone than he would have from Gibson USA and he said the best thing the bass went into production and retails for under $1000.

Someday I will buy an Explorer. But it won't be this one. Always wanted a white one like Hetfield had in 1986 when I saw them open for Ozzy on the Master Of Puppets tour. Sweet ass guitar.

Here ya go, Gibson.... how about someone who's first guitar was an Explorer (and he still plays it on stage)
There's only one way to rock. That isn't it.

Wow....what a waste of Wood...Uhuh huHuhUhuu uhhu h UHh hu hhhuhuhu
Like some 15 yr old kid is out there...."I want a Spammy Haggis guitar, Dad!"
Still a nice looking guitar. But I can't remember ever seeing Sammy play an Explorer.
I'm sick of signature guitars anyway. Look how many artists have signature Les Pauls, and the funny thing is a Les paul is ALREADY a signature guitar. Or look at all of the signature Strats....I mean shit, it isn't like most of them are that varied from production models that Fender made. It is all bullshit. Now we have a signature Hagar Gibson....fuck. Wasn't that piece of shit Dean enough?
What a load of shit. Gibson has sunk to a new low.
Gibson is currently looking for a new Quality Control person. Saw it posted on their site. What a gig, what a gig.
i'd buy a Hamer Standard Custom instead.
I remember when I was still in high school the ONE tolerable thing Spam's done IMO was the first "supergroup" album with Neal Schon, Kenny Aaronson and Michael Shreve (sp on the last two guys) called HSAS - they had a hit with a song called "Missing You". Anyway, they did an MTV concert, and Spammy and Neal had similar Explorers, except Neal's was metallic blue instead of red, and had a Floyd Rose on it.... so yeah, I do remember the days when he played one...this would've made more sense than a LP model IMO. But neither really make sense.
Cool. I couldn't remember him using one. For some reason I was picturing one in the courthouse scene from the '55' video. Just watched it again (I'll spare you guys the Youtube) and it was the red Dean* that's kinda shaped like an Explorer.
And is that Charlie Sheen on bass? I was wondering where he went.
*Fuck I don't know. I think it's a Dean guitar. Headstock looks similar to the Dimebag guitars anyways.
Yo Sammy.
I'm really happy for ya, and Ima let you finish...
But James Hetfield was the coolest cat with an Explorer of all times!
They did have a spiffy logo reminiscent of that...but trying to be 80s at the same time with the metallic font...

It is sort of interesting to note that the Chickenfood logo can only be seen under certain conditions and appears in none of the images promoting the guitar. Found this at the Seymour Duncan site. Maybe it was deemed a "negative selling point"?It is dressed in Gibson's unique "Red Rocker" finish in hand-sprayed high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, and adorned with a secret "ghost image" of the Chickenfoot logo randomly placed on the back, an emblem that can only be seen when viewed from a particular angle in the right light.
I love Explorers, but a rosewood fretboard and Spammy anti-mojo? No thanks...
Exactly.....
But she put the cream in the coffee......
I dunno, Sammy sucks and all, but I like everything about that guitar except the Chickenfoot logo and the "R" on the truss cover. I think the explorer looks good in red.
And that's not just cause I have a Hamer that looks almost EXACTLY like it either.
It's a shame that families should be torn apart by something as simple as....wild dogs
