Do we have a release date yet for the new album?

I would assume that they will procrastinate and release it just before the shows in Australia.

    Any info would be appreciated.

I wouldn't be surprised if a "single" is leaked out to the radio within the next few weeks. No inside info there, just speculation based on the history of most bands releasing a single 6 weeks to 2 months ahead of the album release. We're about three months away from the Aussie tour, so I'm thinking the album will probably drop in late August.

    Bring on the single, VH!!

The most American band on the most American date of the year? Sounds just about right. Especially since they are the all-time best backyard bbq band ever.

Hmm...sounds like a Van Halen way to go about things, right?

That said, it'll never happen. We don't fucking do things the Van Halen way anymore!

I'm forcing myself to exercise patience on the album's release date...

Only for the fact that this album is as important to their career and the one they kicked the hinges of R&R's door back in 1977.

Whatever it takes, this album MUST be stellar!

July 4th, 2011? You mean *exactly* 25 years after the release of EEAS?

Wolfgang would eat his mom's own pussy because it tastes like salty lunch meat.

Valerie Bertinelli? I'd hit it...even though she's had Van Halens coming & going out of that poor thing for decades.

Agreed. I feel like the VH bros. have mortgaged the VH name to the max... if this album is a clunker and/or isn't promoted for shit, like say the 07/08 tour, they're done.

Overall, I wonder what sort of vibe this product, err...album is going to be made up from. Will this be a bold (read: unfocused) new direction like VHIII , will it be relatively contemporary with nods to the past (Metallica's Death Magnetic), or will it be an attempt at proving it's 1978 all over again (KISS' Sonic Boom)?

Just pray there are no hip-hop or dance tracks included. There has been enough embarrassment already.
