VAN HALEN: Reunion Tour Opening Night Set List Revealed

The VAN HALEN reunion tour got underway last night (June 11) at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was their first gig with Sammy Hagar on vocals since October 1995, and their first one since 1998, when Gary Cherone was the lead singer. The complete set list for the show was as follows:

Guitarist Eddie Van Halen told Launch Radio Networks recently that part of VAN HALEN's appeal has always been the fact that they never tried to be something they weren't: "I don't know if we've risen above anything, but I do know that we have never been one to follow trends. You know, whether it be punk, disco, rap, industrial, whatever terms they have nowadays — we're a rock-and-roll band, and we make music that pleases us. We make music from the heart."

Actually, all shit aside. This setlist makes it all that much easier not to go and see this tour. Even if you were of the mindset of "Just going to see Edward" this setlist is not a true showcase of his ultimate talents...

So in a way this is good for those that were borderline considering going on that basis...

Eddie, Alex, and Mike are just ruining the Van Halen Band name even more. It is sad. First time they ruined it was in 1985 then in 1998 and now 2004. It is just sad man. I think the writer on my signature G.R Anderson Jr. had it so right when he said "Hagar made the band grow up, and because of this, ensured that Van Halen would become humorless and irrelevant.

Van Halen will go down in History as a rock band that kicked ass to a rock band that became a pop band. Only 1 chapter out of the 4 chapters are relevant.

no...classic van halen is the whole book...everything else are disposable chapters...

God, I am so glad I am not going to see this tour. To see them ruin five of my favorite songs (Ain't Talkin' Bout Love is my favorite song, Jump second, Unchained is like 5 and Panama is 8, You really got me is a good cover song with DAVE so you don't want to see sammy ruin that...) I sware I would run into the highway and hope to be hit by a semi so I never have to remember seeing Mr.Gaygar and the boys ruin some kick ass song. I always wonder why they just don't let MIKE front the goddamn band, he is better then spammy and gary.
