Didn't Digitech have some sort of setting on one of it's boards that would create the effect of a nylon string guitar? I could swear one of our guitarists had one as long ago as the late 1990s, yet outside of it being somewhat of a novelty effect, we never found a practical use for it.

I remember seeing Dream Theater and JP would hit a switch and his electric sounded exactly like an acoustic.
Not just a clean sound, not a combination of anything. You'd swear he was playing an acoustic.

This is a cool find. Is there a pickup anywhere on the strat?

That's pretty neat indeed, but i have to think it's more about the feeling of the string than anything. A piezo transducer the main contributing component to that sound as it works on physical vibration rather than electromagnetic induction to produce the signal for the amp and that allows you to get a more accurate reproduction as you also capture the tone of the body. Because everything is directly connected, you hear the entire instrument. Nylon must have a duller tone on the high-end, making it seem softer than bronze/steel strings though I've never played on nylon.

I installed the LR BAGGS X Bridge system on my Strat. I can either have the piezo acoustic tone or blend the level of it with the Strats magnetic pickups. I personally find the LR Baggs system to be the most natural acoustic sounding pickup I ever heard. More natural than the Fishman models, imo.

Piezo pickups on electrics are cool...I've toyed with the idea of putting a set of Graph Tech Ghost saddles on one of my Floyds for that reason, but I still need more convincing they won't crack like their normal ones that both Coyote and I have had issues with in the past.
