Hey Democrat Party. Take a hint, give someone else the nomination. You guys need a modern version of JFK. I want a real space program and no wars. Get to it and I might be interested.

2008 should have been Hillary. My level of respect for that woman has grown exponentially the last few years. Talk about a work-horse. She should have been the one taking that 3 am call. I bet she would have chosen a much better VP as well.

I don't think Hillary would have been any better. She actually RAN on a "individual mandate to criminal insurance corporations" health plan, and posted a detailed Social Security privatization plan called "the American Dream Intitiative" (as if??) to the DLC website in 2007 (which mysteriously disappeared once the housing bubble popped, and was never mentioned in her formal primary platform). And of course, the whole "Let's Obliterate Iran" thing.

Our real opportunity to save this country was lost in the MonSatan GMO corn fields of Iowa in January 2004

    It's Government 101, folks...

If the Legislative Branch, specifically the white Republican House in this case, doesn't want the Executive Branch, specifically the black Democratic President in this case, to get anything done, they just obstruct and extort their way for his whole term....

Include the absolute bullshit Filibuster rules nowadays, and it's four years of spinning wheels....

Of course, to the vast majority of the American people, who just don't pay attention to these matters very closely, all they see is that the economy is going down the tubes, and it must be Obama's fault.....

This whole thing over the debt was nothing but political theater. What they cut is less than what they will spend. No tax hikes, no real cuts because they raised the ceiling. The only winner in this is Obama. The default won't happen on his watch and that would kill any chances of winning a second term which the big money want a second term of Obama because they are getting everything they want from this president. The military contractors love Obama, the banks love Obama, GE and other corporations who pay no taxes love Obama. If Obama loses the election in 2012, the oligarchs will miss one of the best friends they ever had.

Hillary would have been no different than Obama. We would have gotten the same healthcare fraud and the same foreign policy. Very little difference between the two actually.

I disagree. Don't forget the land slide take over of the House by Republicans in the last election. Before that it was "let's ram this shit down there throats" People know what's going on.

Oh this fiasco has been in the making over the last 100 years. It started in 1913 with the Federal Reserve Act and the Income Tax Act. Woodrow Wilson was the first president that fucked us over. Then it really started going to shit after JFK got capped and it's been circling the drain ever since. The 60's is when foreign and corporate interests finally got heavily entrenched in the US Government and that's when the outsourcing began. Chase bank was already in China, then Nixon opened it up, and then the whole dismantling of the US economy and outsourcing began. It wasn't Nixon who opened China, it was David Rockefeller and Chase bank. Globalism became the new goal of the government and not providing opportunities for the US citizens. Both parties took the money and got corrupted.

Obama has to take part of the blame here. He's not leading, he's not even fighting. And this was going on long before the teabaggers took over Congress. He had majorities in both houses and couldn't pass a real health care bill, or a financial reform package that wasn't sandbagged by the "federal" reserve. And though there are DLC/Bluedog traitors in Congress who share the blame for those things, they aren't the ones who appointed Obama's ridiculous cabinet.

The minute he announced that fucking piece of shit Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff, I suspected we were in trouble. When he named Tom VilSuck and Robert Gibbs to his cabinet - the very two sick sons of bitches who sabotaged the Iowa 2004 caucus, giving us a pathetic nominee in 2004 as a result - I KNEW we had been swindled.

Obama is NOT what he claimed to be in his campaign. Hope is out the window and the change was not at all as advertised. And yeah, he was left a shit sandwich by the BCE long before the "Satan sandwich". But he could have took the FDR approach and solved the problem, instead of trying to be Clinton with a tan. So yeah, that much definitely IS his fault.

There will be no third party. So what us voters need to do is fire everybody in both parties and clean house. It's the only option, or just get rid of the federal government all together an make the the states individual nations.

I will say this though. "Informed" can be misleading. You can't just listen to talk radio and the news and think you are getting the real deal. Fuck I was listening to someone the other day that said if a congress man voted no on that bill they could not be on the speicial commitee. Said it was in the Bill. Well fuck no it isn't. I read it. So don't belive every thing you hear no matter who the source is.

Obama is the most brilliant fraud in US history. When the corporations found this guy and ran him, man they played the American public like a fiddle. If it's too good to be true it probably is. Did people think hope and change really would be as easy as Obama claimed it would be? Now change is the only thing we have in our pockets and the shovel ready jobs is shoveling Obama's bullshit.

Never think your vote doesn't matter. When I hear someone say don't bother to vote they are basically saying bend over. The power is never in the hands of the top. They are nothing without us. We just need to refuse to play their game. I think most of us know what game they are playing so just refuse to play it. They don't have the muscle to force you at gun point at least yet. All they can do is use trickery, plus there are more of us than them. They love us to be divided and argue amongst ourselves. Why we chase that ghost they steal from us. It's not Obama, it's who Obama works for and it's the same people Bush worked for.

The Tea Baggers are psychotic puppets of the Koch Brothers who literally want to destroy everything good about this country. They aren't the solution to anything.

Interesting times we live in. Malloy is ripping the Democratic party a new asshole and I was at the tire place yesterday having some new tires put on and Rush Limbaugh was on the radio and he was ripping the Republican party a new asshole. Nobody is happy.

That's a another dupe like the whole Obama movement. Basically surrendering the right to negotiate your pay and workers rights and making the government big daddy. So this shit is being played on both sides of the isle in the name of helping the average person but it only helps a few people who own these politicians. So now we know the game they are playing.

There is a grass roots movement and it's neither Republican or Democrat. It's people who want their country back and it's buzzing with anger right now and more and more they learn it's not the opposing party but a few rich fucks who bought both parties.

There are few things that are completely certain but one is that the human race will be destroyed one way or the other if it is unable to colonise space.

Keith Olbermann reported tonight that they discovered mud on Mars. And of course, the existence of mud implies the existence of water and also raises the possibility of life on that planet, even if it might only be microbial life in the mud.

If we could figure out how to create an atmosphere, Mars might be a possibility. Problem is if it were done so the way things are going right now, the likely outcome would be the rich fucks taking off to Mars, after completely raping Earth beyond any hope of recovery.

Unfortunately for us, Ruining an atmosphere is a lot easier (and profitable) than creating one

    Oh, FFS.
It's absolutely true and you know it. Stop LYING. The Tea Party and the GOP are the ones whose positions have "0 to no" (that's kinda the same thing there, brainiac) "basis in fact".

You probably like that your Tea Party fuckbag idols are running around calling the POTUS a "tar baby" or "your boy" though, so OF COURSE YOU want to defend them. As for them "not following party lines" - the fuck they're not! They have their own agenda they're lock-(goose)stepped into, and not one of them DARES to cross the Grover Norquists and religious hate groups they're aligned with. WAKE UP. THEY'RE what's wrong with the country, not Obama.

But beyond their overt and shameful racism, disinterest in truth, fairness or helping the middle class, and willingness to DESTROY THE COUNTRY to F the black POTUS at all costs - the fact of the matter is they're already said their plan is to EXTORT what they don't have the votes for in getting their fucked up agenda over on the country. Bad news for them is people are starting to wake up and recognize them for the shitbags they are. I love how they feign outrage over being called "terrorists" when in the same breath Mitch McConnell fully cops to it, says "it was a hostage worth taking". The Dems may have lost their balls, but the Tea baggers? They're scum.

Oh, and check out FAUX News' barely veiled racist headline this morning -

Yeah, that's not racist at all...and not even true, there was a full catering staff employed that evening, so there!

Not to mention it's not the POTUS who "creates jobs" it's CONGRESS - and they just brokered a deal that's going to kill another 1.8 million of them! Yeah, they're just awesome!

Agree with FORD, however, that Obama does need to stop caving to these damnable fucks at every turn.

We can't even take care of ourselves or this one planet we are on. What makes us think it will be better if we colonize other planets? If I was a life form from another planet with greater intelligence I would do everything in my power to keep the people of earth bottled up here so they won't pollute the rest of the universe.

    Yeah what ever.

You're fuckin crazy dude. I mean really. That Matt guy is to, so I can see why you like him so much. Really I am to the point I can't even read that shit any more it is such garbage. He has one view and it's distorted to the point that he actually thinks he's telling the truth when in fact he is spewing retoric.

I am not denfending anybody just think it's intersting to read what the other guys say to Matt's bullshit.

Note that Matt shouldn't be talking about facts in this because he is the world worst at getting them wrong.
    http://www.rollingstone.com/politics...steps-20101110

Taibbi: To me, the main thing about the Tea Party is that they're just crazy. If somebody is able to bridge the gap with those voters, it seems to me they will have to be a little bit crazy too. That's part of the Tea Party's litmus test: "How far will you go?"

Gergen: I flatly reject the idea that Tea Partiers are crazy. They had some eccentric candidates, there's no question about that. But I think they represent a broad swath of the American electorate that elites dismiss to their peril.

Hart: I agree with David. When two out of five people who voted last night say they consider themselves supporters of the Tea Party, we make a huge mistake to suggest that they are some sort of small fringe group and do not represent anybody else.

Taibbi: I'm not saying that they're small or a fringe group.

Gergen: You just think they're all crazy.

    Taibbi: I do.

Gergen: So you're arguing, Matt, that 40 percent of those who voted last night are crazy?
ey're completely uninterested in the facts. They're voting completely on what they see and hear on Fox News and afternoon talk radio, and that's enough for them.

Gergen: The great unwashed are uneducated, so therefore their views are really beneath serious conversation?

Taibbi: I'm not saying they're beneath serious conversation. I'm saying that these people vote without acting on the evidence.

Gergen: I find it stunning that the conversation has taken this turn. I disagree with the Tea Party on a number of issues, but it misreads who they are to dismiss them as some kind of uneducated know-nothings who have somehow seized power in the American electorate. It is elitist to its core. We would all be better off if we spent more time listening to each other rather than simply writing them off.

Hart: I agree. The point here is that the Obama administration would be at their own peril to somehow misread this as a fringe, unacceptable group of people. This is a huge portion of the electorate, and they represent a core within the Republican Party.

I won't even acknowledge the Tea Party as even existing until they show up on the ballot as a legitimate choice. It's still a Republican and Democrat game. No other party has any real power.

I am not trying to back the Tea Party. I am pointing out that Matt is a dumbass jerk that that spews his own shit and thinks it's true. Even when most know it's not. That guy's FORD's hero you know.

I guess I should also point out that he wrote an article on the Tea Party that was complete trash. FORD"S bible.

Oh everybody has their feathers ruffled because the economy is bad. It happens every time. It's human nature. We have been doing this for thousands of years. Religion and racism aren't going to go away and we all won't get along and sing kumbaya by the campfire. Someone will see all of this as something to exploit and try and kick the anthill some more. People really aren't that much smarter than ants. If anything ants are better organized and work harder than we do. Something now has kicked our anthill and everyone is running around going "Oh Shit!"

Here are some facts for you. This story was also filled with retoric bullshit with a few questionable facts mixed in.

    http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowln...giarism_b38382

Does Matt Taibbi’s Rolling Stone Piece on Michele Bachmann Qualify as Plagiarism?By Ujala Sehgal on June 24, 2011 1:38 PMAccording to Poynter, Matt Taibbi‘s just-posted Rolling Stone piece on Michele Bachmann “borrowed liberally” from a 2006 City Pages cover story written by G.R. Anderson. City Pages writes that Abe Sauer at the Awl called Rolling Stone out in a “point-by-point comparison and got Rolling Stone executive editor Eric Bates to admit he had deleted several ‘according to City Pages’ references. Bates promised to add link backs into the electronic version of the story, which he did.”

But Anderson, the original author of the story, wants an apology. “I would never want to get anybody fired,” Anderson told City Pages. “But I do want credit where credit is due.” Anderson is currently a journalism professor at the University of Minnesota J-School, and he did say that while he “would not consider what the Rolling Stone contained in it to be plagiarism. That is for other people to decide… [but] I do know that if a student handed in a story with that particular lack of sourcing, not only would I give it an ‘F,’ I would probably put that student on academic fraud.”

This is one example of the sort of liberal borrowing in Taibbi’s piece from Sauer’s comparison between the two at the Awl:

    City Pages, 2006:

‘I came in wearing jeans, a sweatshirt and moccasins, and I had no makeup on at all,’ the story quotes Bachmann as saying. ‘I had not one piece of literature, I had made not one phone call, and spent not five cents and I did not solicit a vote.’

    Rolling Stone:

‘I came in wearing jeans, a sweatshirt and moccasins, and I had no makeup on at all,’ she said. ‘I had made not one phone call, and spent not five cents, and I did not solicit a vote.’

Sauer notes the fact that this “particular City Pages profile is sure to be one of the most-borrowed texts of the upcoming election cycle. (The Daily Beast June 15th profile of Marcus Bachmann was noble enough to cite it.)” In the interview with City Pages, Anderson speculates why he thinks this sort of borrowing now occurs even for major profiles written by journalists:

And I think that perhaps what has happened to Taibbi is that he’s being encouraged to be the new gonzo that [Jann Wenner, the publisher] romanticizes and those days are over. I don’t think either one of the them realizes it. The differences between Taibbi and Dr. Thompson is that Thompson went to get a story–he went places–he didn’t write it from fucking Jann Wenner’s fucking couch. You couldn’t find Thompson for months, because he was working on a story. Clearly, this Bachmann piece shows the difference quite clearly, between Taibbi and Hunter S. Thompson–which is vast. The longer Taibbi chases it with rhetoric and no reporting, he’s going to lose.
