To All Robin Trower Fans:

We are about to start eBay auctions of surplus Robin Trower equipment. These items are all in working condition and have been used at some time onstage or in studio by Robin and/or members of his bands. A letter of certification will accompany each item sold. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of a Legend’s gear.

Robin is always listening for that special sound, experimenting with various setups to get the result he wants, so some of the items worked on many tours and others were used only briefly.

All of this gear has been maintained meticulously. Every amp was refurbished before every tour it went out on. The equipment will be sold “as is” but each item will be guaranteed not to be DOA. I have worked for Robin for over 20 Years and this is only the second time that he has offered his used gear for sale, I hope that some of you fans on this site will be the new owners.

The reason we are linking the auctions to the fan site is so that Robin's true fans have a fair shot at winning. We believe that eBay offers the most open auctions, where everybody can bid and has an equal chance at winning. We will offer several items at a time until everything is sold. As soon as the auctions on eBay start, a link will be posted on this page. We will also indicate when each auction is ending.

As the auctions proceed please feel free to leave messages here to get further information on items you might want to bid on.

Must be the week for celeb guitar stuff auction announcements...Richard Gere is selling a bunch of his guitars (who knew he even played?) too... his auction isn't until 10/1, however...

Richard Gere, one of Hollywood's original golden boys, is to sell of his extensive range of guitars at an auction held by Christie's.

Gere, who stole the hearts of many young women in the 80s with his performances in An Officer and a Gentleman and American Gigolo, has spent the last 20 years collecting acoustic guitars and electric guitars.

And what an exclusive range it is. The Pretty Woman actor has music instruments that once belonged to Albert King, Peter Tosh and James D'Aquisto, as well as plenty of pieces from leading brands that includes Gibson and Fender.

Kerry Keane, head of Christie's musical instruments department, said: "What transpired over a lifetime is an almost encyclopaedic representation of American guitar making.

"This is an exciting opportunity for collectors and fans alike to take advantage of Mr Gere's unrecognised talent for creating a cohesive collection."

It is believed that his entire collection is valued at around $1 million (approximately £605,173).

Gere is something of a music talent and aficionado.

Not only is he an accomplished guitar player, but also skilful on the trumpet and piano, which he taught himself to play.

The auction will be held in New York on October 1st.
